I Am Back After a Long Time

So today, a few minutes ago actually, I regained access to my long lost steem account (@fivestar4ever), the universe just gave me a Christmas gift 😁.

So I joined steem 5 years ago (if I still remember well) after being active for some time, I became inactive for some reasons, few months later, I came back do discover that I've forgotten my login password, and also have misplaced my posting and active keys which I wrote on a sheet of paper and supposedly kept safe.
After searching every where in my house, I could not find the piece of paper and could not remember my login password either, so I gave up and abandoned steemit totally since I lost access to my account and don't want to make another one.

It's been over 5 years now, so today being Christmas, I was just searching through my books and a local novel caught my attention, I know I've read that novel before but its title made me feel like reading it again, so I took it, sat down and started reading, it's a small novel, in about an hour, I was already past half and just a little further, I found a piece of paper with strings of letters and numbers in their upper and lower case written on it, my mind told me it looked like a private key, but then I couldn't figure out which wallet it belonged to - (note that I've completely forgotten about steemit at this time), deep down in me, I knew those alphanumerics is not a private key to any of my wallets as I currently have access to all my crypto wallets and have their private keys written some where else.

I had to start thinking deeply to try to remember where to strings belong, and somehow, I remembered steemit, I then picked up my mobile phone and opened the website, typed in my username which is same for all social platforms, typed in my posting key and voila, I am back on steemit 😂😂.

Really amazing how the platform have developed and grown so far, I've missed alot I don't need to be told, but from now on, I hope to become an active user of this platform and member of this community.

Thank you for reading,

Hey @fivestar4ever,

Welcome back to steemit. Steemit has changed a lot in these long 5 years. Also in its rules. Hope you will blog here according to everything.

Here are some popular communities. You can work on and their admin and mod will guide you enough.

Finally, I want to say,
You connect Tron Wallet to your Steemit Wallet. If you don't have a previous Tron account, open a new account and link it.

Thanks.

Thank you sir, I appreciate your response, i will set up a Tron account immediately, didn't, this feature or should I call ability, wasn't present when last I was here.

Great...

My goodness! Thank you so much for sharing this story. I really liked it. It was a personal and honest story in while you described your ordeal of getting your keys back thanks to a lucky twist. When I saw your post, it caught my attention immediately. Of course, not the formatting, the style of the text, but the content itself. Because it is so gratifying to read such a story, when a practically Methuselah user (who registered 5 years ago) somehow found his way back to the world of Steemit from the depths of time. I think this post of yours might give strength to new users as well. Don't get me wrong, it's not self-advertisement at all and it's not vote-hunting, because the post I want to draw your attention to is more than 19 days old: 🔗 https://steemit.com/hive-172186/@gastrocrutch/achievement-2-gastrocrutch-task-basic-security-on-steemit 😉 But I show you this link because several users liked the idea I suggested for storing the master password (ECC Curve25519 method). 🙏I would be happy if we could have a good relationship here, because in my eyes the comment or vote of an old user, even if there is no SP behind it, is worth much more than any other. In my stubborn opinion, the development of Steemit's destiny should or would should be shaped by the oldest members, because they are the most committed to the direction of Steemit.

Thank you for the kind word, really appreciate it, but it seems the link you shared is broken, does not lead to any content, please check and share again. Thank you.

You are right, a space slipped into the link. I corrected.
