Hello to everyone here in Steemit.I am glad to see you.I wish to write my Achievement 3 post on Plagiarism.
Plagiarism
Plagiarism is the act of copying or stealing another person's work.It also invloves copying some part of another person's work without referencing the original author.Plagiarism could be called academic theft. It violates the copyright of the original owner of the work.
Here on Steemit, Plagiarism highly frowned at.Users on Steemit are expected to produce original contents.
Types of Plagiarism
•Mosaic Plagiarism:
This involves a user copying from different authors and combining to form his own work. For example if a user copies a definition from different authors and mix it up and pretend to the original owner without referencing the original authors.
•Copy and Paste:
I call this one verbatim Plagiarism. In this case, the user copies the entire work of another person and then reproduce it as if he is the main author.
•Self Plagiarism:
When you recopy your old work and present it as a new work.It is said to Plagiarism because you are plagiarizing yourself.
How to Avoid Plagiarism
To avoid Plagiarism. The user will have to put reference to the place he got some the information used for the writing.
The user can also use quotations to indicate a quote which was got from another place.
Always use Plagiarism checker application to scan your work before posting it.
Consequences of Plagiarism

•One of the consequence of Plagiarism is that the user would be banned from posting in that particular Community.
•Plagiarism can lead downvoting of a post by steemcurator.
It can also make one to lose his reputation on Steemit.
