Achievement 2 @frankly356 Task: Basic Security On Steem

Security and safety is very vital in every environment, and it is everyone's business. Going through the lessons on "Basic Security On Steem" I have come to value and understand more about the four(4) major keys in the steemit platform - steemit.com and my responsibility in keeping them "very" safe.

I login with my username and master password, then accessed, retrieved and safely stored all my keys from the "keys & permissions" session of my steemit account.

The four keys have different functions as follow;

-Posting key: it is use frequently for the social media activities on the steemit platform. For example, posting of contents, reply/comment, upvote/downvote, resteem and to follow people.

-Active key: It is mostly used for steemit wallet related transactions like; transferring funds, power up/down, converting steem dollars and updating profile details, placing a market order and voting for witnesses. It can be use to steal funds from the account by a third party.

-Owner key: It is the most powerful key, used in special occasions like in account recovery and when is is demanded on the steemit platform when the account is compromised. It can be use to change all the other keys. It is very important to save it securely offline.

-Memo key: For npw, it has a very limited usage. It is use to encrypt and decrypt message on the blockchain platform.

I have save my master password on a paper and lock it up in my box and digitally offline in a drive.

To transfer steem tokens to another user account, the token is access in the wallet and the small inverted triangle is click to show the drop box and the "transfer" option is chosen. The box opens for the account & amount to be inserted, then the active key is demanded to authenticate the transaction.

Converting "steem" to "steem power(SP)" is called power up. I was able to increase my steem power with all the steem in my wallet from 6SP to 9SP. Subsequently, I will be able to perform the power up transaction efforlessly.

Going forward, I will be extremely careful with all keys and master password.
