Basic Security on Steemit is the most important aspect of steemit which every user must strictly adhere to, in order to avoid being a victim of internet hackers and scammers. It also has to do with handling of your steemit keys like an egg, you need to store them in such a way that you can retrieve them whenever you want.
These keys are called private keys/passwords because your account is a private account, it is not to be shared with a second party or any kind of website. The security measures to be given to your account should be an authentic one, this is because once your account is lost , it can't be retrieved and if you misplace your private master key or your private owner key, your account can't be retrieved, therefore you need to be disciplined.

The 5 Basic Keys in Steemit Blockchain, and their differences and uses on your account.

The Master Key:

As the name implies, it is the most important key of your account, i will say it is the Brain of your account just as the C.P.U is the Brain of the computer. Master Key is the first key you are given once you sign up on Steemit, it is used to generate or retrieve other keys. It should be properly secured, because once it is misplaced, it cannot be retrieved. It should not be seen by another person or used on different websites. Keep your keys/passwords safe, ensure to store them in hard copy.

Procedures on How to Change your Password

Click on the 3 horizontal lines at the top right corner of your account

Click on change password
Input your user name
On the box written current password
Input your master key/password

Click on generate password
Then tick the boxes
Click on update password.

Owner Key

The owner key is the most important key, it is used to recover a compromised account. It is also used to change other keys of your steemit account and even your owner key. It should be secured and kept in a hard copy.

Active Key

This key is very sensitive, it is used for monetary and wallet transactions such as powering up/down, converting steem dollars, voting for witnesses, transferring of funds, witness voting , profile updates and placing market orders.

Posting key

Posting Key is the key that allows you to post in your account, comment on posts, follow or mute accounts, upvotes and downvotes on posts, edit posts, resteem.

Memo Key

This play an important role in your account, it is used to encrypt and decrypt messages. It is used to hide messages from public, it can also be used to send messages to someone and it can be used to view a hidden message sent to you.

Precautions to be taken

Secure your password and never share with a third party website or any person.
Do not misplace your passwords or keys
Your passwords/keys cannot be retrieved
Store your passwords/keys in hard copy or hard drive
Ensure you backup your keys/passwords in your device

HOW TO TRANSFER STEEM TOKEN

Go to your wallet on your profile
You will see Steem,Steem power, Steem dollars, Saving, TRX.Click on the arrow under Steem
You will see Transfer,Transfer to Savings,Power up,Trade, Market.Click on Transfer and you will see this:
Write the name of the person you want to transfer to using @. for example @wealthmary,Then write the amount and click on next
You will see this:

Then click on Ok.

HOW TO POWER UP

Click on the wallet on your profile
You will see Steem, Steem power, Steem dollars, Saving,TRX.Click on the arrow under the Steem

You will see Transfer, Transfer to Savings, Power up, Trade and Market.Click on Power Up

. Write the amount you want to Power Up and click on Power Up

Click on Ok.
