Achievement 6 - Curation and communities

Do you understand how the voting and curation system works in Steemit?

Yes. I understand that this platform uses the Proof of Brain (PoB) protocol for curating content , whereby the curator rewards the original content with his or her positive vote, with ideas and opinions of the author. The economic value of the reward contributed to the curated publication will depend on the amount of Steem Power (SP) saved by the curator, since the higher the SP, the higher the reward received from the steemit reward pool.

It is important to mention that of the total amount received for the curation, the author will receive 50% of the value distributed between SBD, SP and TRX. The other 50% corresponds to the curator. Another interesting fact is that if the curator has less than 500 SP, his vote will do so using 100% of the voting power, however, when he has 500 SP onwards, the curator will be able to configure and decide how to distribute his power (SP) in every vote cast.

All users have co-responsibility in the content curation process, that is why it is necessary to invest in the growth of our account by increasing our SP, when we do, we will be giving freely, what we receive by grace, that is, as well as other users stop to read our content and reward us with votes and positive comments, in the same way we must read content from other authors and reward them according to their creativity and originality.

What happens if you vote on a post after 5 minutes of posting?

When we curate content we must be aware of the time the publication has been posted, if you do it before 5 minutes you will get less than 100% of what corresponds to you as a curator, however, if you do it after 5 minutes you will have your full reward. See the percentage parameters for rewards in the table below.

Who will you vote for as a witness? Why?

I really know very little about the users who act as witnesses (witness), however, reading a little and documenting myself on the subject I chose to support with my vote to cotina because I have seen the transparent and quality work that their administrators do. I would also like to vote for @justyy for his valuable contribution to the platform.

What communities will you join? Why?

There are many communities that I have joined and published, however, I have my favorites, where I public more frequently because I feel identified with the content that is promoted there, I like the variety of options offered through workshops, contests, dynamics, thematic labels, in short I feel comfortable with them.

I take this opportunity to give an honorable mention to Newcomers' community for the great introductory training it offers to new steemit users.

Below I show you just some of the excellent communities that is offered on the steemit platform.

  • Newcomers community
  • Steemwomens club
  • Steemit crypto academy
  • Steemit foods
  • Steemit Nursery
