Let me start my answering the questions asked be @cryptokannon on content etiquette of steemit.

What is Plagiarism?

Plagiarism is the representation of another author's language, thoughts, ideas, or expressions as one's own original work. In educational contexts, there are differing definitions of plagiarism depending on the institution.Source

In my own words;
plagiarism, I would say is when you imitating and presents exact work, ideas or content of another person.
It is an illegal act which can attracts punishment, if you plagiarise in steemit platform there are punishment too, so you have to stay away from it.

What are the different types of plagiarism?

Mosaic plagiarism: in this type of plagiarism it involves restating another persons work just so that it may look original or look real and different from the main author.

Direct plagiarism: here, the plagarist copies a content just as the original owner(author) wrote it without filtering a word and without also referencing the author.

Global plagiarism
Global plagiarism occurs when you copy another person's text from his or her publication without making reference to them.

Self-plagiarism:
Copy or repeating your own post in many communities is a crime. People do this because they want to get rewarded multiple times.

Accidental plagiarism: sometimes it skips our mind that we need to add the source to pictures, quotes gotten from the internet. This is also a type of plagiarism in steemit.

Causes Of Plagiarism

People feel reluctant to carry out a task at the appropriate time. This very common people with such characteristic as; fear of fairlure, lack of self confident, laziness, lack of academic knowledge, etc

Effect Of Plagiarism

Plagiarism is not tolerated in this platform, there are lots of side effect to people who fail to abide by the rules governing this platform.

  1. you will keep lossing your reputation
  2. It will attract low ratinge.
  3. You will be muted by the community leaders.
  4. Your followers will unfollow you.
  5. curators won't visit your post

How to Avoid Plagiarism

As we have seen from the above explanation, plagiarism is not a good act on steemit. So I will let you know how to avoid it.

  1. Creat time for steemit activities
  2. Quite "copy and paste"
  3. Citing every source used in your work
  4. Recheck your post well with an online tool before publishing it.
  5. Make use of quotation mark where necessary.
  6. presenting your own idea of anything you write about.
  7. Stop Procrastination
  8. Self confidence
