Hello everyone. I hope you are all doing well and enjoying your life.
I discover many new things as I read about the Third Achievement. So today I am coming up with new information and knowledge regarding "Content Etiquette and Plagiarism"

Achievement - 3 (2).png

Plagiarism

Definition:

Plagiarism occurs when someone else's content is used without their permission or giving them credit.

Explanation:

Imagine someone worked really hard on a video, blog, research, art, or any creation. If someone's content is utilised without asking or giving credit then it is called "Plagiarism". It is necessary always to ask for permission of the creator regarding use of the audio, video, text, or images that He or She created. Or in second option the credit of the content should be given to them.

Example:

Picture yourself making a YouTube video with lots of effort. You wake up early, shoot, edit for hours, and upload. Now, if someone downloads and uses your video without permission or credit, that's plagiarism. It's not allowed, and creators can take action.

Types of Plagiarism:

There are eight common types:

Full Plagiarism

Copying someone's content and putting your name on it.

Source Base Plagiarism:

Posting someone's content with a wrong reference.

Self Plagiarism:

Reusing your content in multiple places.

Paraphrase Plagiarism:

Copying and changing someone else's idea.

Mosaic Plagiarism:

Mixing someone else's content with yours.

Accidental Plagiarism:

Writing your content but accidentally using something already used.

Direct Plagiarism:

Copy-pasting without any changes.

Inaccurate Authorship:

Misleading about who wrote the content.

My Suggestions to Avoid Plagiarism:

Use plagiarism tools to check your content.
Always give credit to sources.
If you use an image, provide the source link.
Don't just say "Wikipedia" as a source; provide the specific page link.
Creating your content is the best way. Your mind has countless ideas; you just need to work on them.

What are Citations?

Citations are references to the sources of your content.

Example of Citations:

Let's take example of "Health"

"The word health refers to a state of complete emotional and physical well-being. Healthcare exists to help people maintain this optimal state of health" - source

You're Verified, but note that there are many other etiquette content on Steem you must follow apart from avoiding plagiarism and this are the do's and don't in the platform. For example don't publish AI-generated posts, don't beg for vote, don't resteem everything you see, if you upload nude use NFSW tag, don't spite others, do engage meaningfully with fellow users, do support fellow users etc!
