Who am I and what am I doing here? Yes, I am a newcomer.

Greetings, fellow steemers,

it's been quite a challenge to get to write this first post. I knew nothing about steemit, so, once I found this platform, I set out to learn all I possibly could about it. Then, I gathered that there is a proper way of doing one's introduction and studied all I could find about it until I was sure enough of the way to go about it. I hope I got it right.

Who am I? I'm Pedro and I write to you from Portugal under the monniker @hefestus and am pretty happy about having found a place to do it where stress is put in assuring our identity and preventing the theft of intelectual property. I had already given up hope of getting back to writing online, as it was a surefire way of getting myself plagiarized by all sorts of different people, in all sorts of different languages.

A few years ago, I gave up on publishing original texts in social networks and reduced my input to a minimum, after getting tired of finding my writings spread all over without a minimum of credit. I enter steemit in the expectation of finding a different vibe in that respect, so, feel free to use whatever I write or publish, still, do me the pleasure of mentioning the source.

Athough I have professional expertise in a number of subjects that any of you can find out about by taking a look at my linkedin profile (the address of which is linked in my steemit profile), and I will be quite happy to post about any of that in case one of you has a pertinent question, out of my own volition, I won't be posting anything work related, as I am most interested in exploring my extra curricular interests.

Having said this, what I will be doing here will be posting in short and long forms about the subjects that interest me as an hobby, and those are: general culture, history, geopolitics, cyberpunk and, sometimes, aliens. I have plans of, maybe one day, doing it in the video format, but, at the moment, I have neither the means, nor the technical expertise needed. I will be interested in being challenged to cooperate with any one of you millenials, if you find yourselves lacking material to work with and find my approach to these themes exciting.

As a final word, I would like to congratulate the creators of this incredibly promising platform, especially, giving kudos to whoever had the brilliant idea of matching online publishing and crypto, and wishing all of you steemit users a very productive, bountiful and healthy 2025. May it be a year full of peace and happiness.

(This below is a video, presenting myself, so there is no doubts about who I am).

Thank you for the warm welcome. I'm tryring to get the feeling of the platform and checking everything out. I expect to be contributing quite a lot, (as long as my contributions are appreciated).
Have a great 2025. Cheers

Hi Im new too, do you have any advice so far? I learned that if I right-click on where I want to go, I can open a new Steemit tab as there is no back button here. So I can open multiple Steemit tabs on my computer, isn't that cool?
