Achievement 2 @hndrxx Task: Basic Security

Hello Steem community. Greetings to all members. It has been a pleasure to be part of this great platform. Within a week of joining the Steem community, I have had the urge and desire to participate in all the activities of which I am capable of carrying out. Therefore, I am continuing my Steemit journey with Achievement 2.

The following are the basic keys given to Steem users and their functions:

Posting Key:
The posting key is used to publish a user’s post, comment on his or another user’s post, edit his post, Upvote or downvote a post, Resteem content (the post of other users), follow other users and to mute available accounts.

Active Key:
Active Key is used to transfer his tokens, to power his STEEM either up or down, SBD conversion, Vote for witnesses (other users), place an order on an exchange, Certain profile changes, publish a Witness price feed and to Create a new user.

Owner Key:
Owner Key is basically used to recover a lost account. It can also be used to, reset a user’s Owner, Active, and Posting keys.

Memo Key:
Memo key is used to send an encrypted/encoded message and to view an encrypted message.

Master Key:
This is the highest and most important of all keys. Master key is the first one given to the user to obtain all the keys for the account. As the name of the key suggests, master key, that key is the master of that account or the one who knows it. It is highly recommended that users do not share this key with anyone.

How To Transfer Steem from One Account to The Other
Step 1:
Log into your account using your username and active key.

Step 2:
Tap on the wallet icon, then tap on the Steem. Click on the small arrow beside the Steem balance and then select transfer

Step 3:
Enter the desired amount, the receiver’s user name, amount and memo then click next.

Step 4:
Enter your key, then click ok.

Step 5:
Confirm and your tokens will be successfully transferred.

How To Power Up Steem
Powering up Steem involves the transfer of liquid Steem to Steem Power.
Step 1:
Proceed to the wallet and tap three lines on the screen. An interface will open after this is done.

Step 2:
Click the button labeled Power Up.

Step 3:
Input the desired amount of Steem intended to be used to power up and click the Power Up button. This process enables a certain amount of Steem to be converted into Steem power.

Step 4:
Input the master key or active key given during user registration. The greater your Steem power, the greater the influence the user has on the platform.

How To Power Down
Inadvertently, to Power Down is to perform the opposite of Powering Up. Therefore, when Steem Power is transferred to liquid Steem, Powering Down has occurred. Below are the steps involved in powering down:
Step 1:
Just as in Powering Up, proceed to the wallet, but this time tap the icon labelled Steem Power. An interface will open after this is done.

Step 2:
Click on the option Power Down. Input the amount of Steem intended to be Powered Down then click the Power Down icon.

Step 3:
Input the master key or active key given during user registration. Upon completing this process, the user has successfully powered down.

Do you have a backup on the Keys to Steemit?
The intelligent thing to do once a password is generated by a user on any site is to keep it in a safe and secure space. It is of more necessity on this platform as users have been given a warning from the get-go to keep their keys securely. I, for one, have taken the liberty of downloading all keys given to me in a PDF format and storing them on the most secure spaces provided both online and offline, some of which include Google Drive, One Drive, iCloud amongst others.
