WHAT IS PLAGIARISM?
Plagiarism is the representing of an authors Words,Ideas,Thoughts and expressions as yours without the knowledge,or awareness of the original author.In other word it is the use of other peoples ideas and words without their consent.
Plagiarism is considered as a violation in the ethical policy of academia and also compromises the principles of ethics applicable to journalist.

EFFECTS OF PLAGIARISM
Plagiarism calls for sanctions such as Suspension,legal repercussion, Fine,Tarnishing of student image,Expulsion from and Institution.while some societies do not frowned on plagiarism some take it more seriously.Countries like India and Poland are very strict when it comes to plagiarism and culprits found guilty spend longer time in prison.

FORMS OF PLAGIARISM
1.Presenting someone's work as your own.
2.Inaccurately citing a source
3.Re-writing someone's work without proper citation
4.failing to change the structure and wording of the borrowed ideas.
5.Using quotation but not citing the source or citing some but not all.
6.Self plagiarism(using words from previous work without proper citation.

EFFECTIVE WAYS TO AVOID PLAGIARISM
1.Always run work on a plagiarism checker.
2.Properly cite your sources before submitting your work.
3.Creativity and Imaginative can also help in avoiding plagiarism.

I've plagiarize once on this steemit platform but since then i have learnt and understood the Steemit Etiquette .I hope to play by the Etiquette of the community.
