Greeting to everyone on the platform, I’m much delighted to continue with my achievement task today on the steemit as proof of my understanding to the steemit platform. I would first of all like to thank @wilmer1988 for verifying my previous achievement task and making it possible for me to head this one. And I would like to thank @cryptokannon for her guidelines that enlighten us on how to go about the content. So without further I do here is my content for my achievement task 3.

All published and unpublished material, whether in manuscript, printed or electronic form, is covered under this definition. Plagiarism may be intentional or reckless, or unintentional. Under the regulations for examinations, intentional or reckless plagiarism is a disciplinary offence".source

Plagiarism is technically stealing one’s work or creativity, be it quote, a picture, a definition or even an example to subject, without properly acknowledging the person. It is the form of stealing that is mostly rampant on the internet, the internet being filled with vast ideas by people makes it easy for other to steal them without properly acknowledging them.

Forms of plagiarism

Plagiarism can be done in various forms or identified in various types, some of which are the following.

1. Plagiarism could be accidental, these form of plagiarism is when a person isn’t able to acknowledge the author for his work by citing it due to his low knowledge, ignorance or recklessness in the plagiarism avoidance.
2. Whole or full plagiarism, as it implies is when a person copy’s an author’s work or idea fully, word for word. It is a very serious form of plagiarism.

   Ways to avoid plagiarism.

Plagiarism is considered as an offensive crime and a person could get punished for it sometimes. But it isn’t all the time that we can make our own ideas given a limited time, so therefore we need to borrow others ideas and incorporate them to our own work. And there is a right way to do this without being penalized. And the ways to avoid plagiarism are;

1. Always putting or citing a borrowed idea from an author, this may involve indicating clearly in your work the author’s name and where you got it or also putting a link to source of the information you borrowed.
2. Try as much as possible to make or create your own ideas so as to avoid the chances of having other’s work in yours. There is pride in creating your own work and be able to defend at all time that you actually did it, so it worth trying. So far as someone did it, why can’t you?
3. Always use a plagiarism checker to confirm there’s no plagiarism in your work before publishing it. This will let you even if there is a slight bit of plagiarism in your and therefore you’ll deal with properly.

CONCLUSION

Plagiarism can be stopped and should be stopped at all cost so as improve or force the creativity of people in making their own work.
