Hi, everyone.

My name is Iniobong Ikpoto, aged 29. I'm from Akwa Ibom state, Nigeria. Currently, I'm residing in Bonny Island, Rivers State still in Nigeria. It's a pleasure to be here in this platform where there are amazing people.

Academics

I attended Redeemed Nursery and Primary but I completed my primary education at Four Towns Central School, Ikot Akpan Anwa, Ika, Akwa Ibom state. And, I moved to Ika Comprehensive High School, Ikot Akpan Anwa, for my secondary education. To further pursue my academic interest, I went to University of Uyo where I studied Animal Science, and graduated with a Second Class Upper Division.

Hobbies.

I like reading, and I like writing. For me, writing is beyond a mere expression of ideas. It is a form of healing to both the writer and the audience in as much as it identifies and addresses the aspirations and situation of the audience. Thus, most of my writings are aimed at addressing the human condition, societal issues, intra-personal conflict, and the likes. I like to explore rural settings, with a view to capturing the lives of the locals who are seemingly abandoned, literary, to the back pages of life. Sometimes, I write short fantasy puns for people who are bored by ordinary life, and need to escape to a world where there are endless possibilities.
As a reader, I draw a lot of inspiration from the works of Chimamanda Adichie, Richard Wright, Ngugi Wa Thiongo, Chinua Achebe, Alice Walker, Peter Abraham and many others.

Apart from the above, I love drawing. I started drawing when I was still a pre-teen. Then, it was merely outline sketching of pictures from story books. Sadly, I got caught up in the web of other interests, and I abandoned the passion for drawing. Well, I recently picked up my pencils where I left them. And, this time, my pencil drawings are a bit more realistic.

Other Things About Me.

I'm open to new ideas. I like to make people smile when I can. I am an Animal Scientist by education, but I have a very keen interest in the humanities, which I express in writing. And, I love nature because (for me) nature is God and God is Nature.
