Good day fellow Steemians! I hope you're doing good. Today, I am going to proceed to another task by @crytokannon which is the "Achievement 3: Content Etiquette". I am going to talk about plagiarism and its types. So without further I do, let's start.

WHAT IS PLAGIARISM?
In my own words, plagiarism is when you present someone else's work or ideas as your own, with or without their permission, by holding it into your work without giving them full credit. It is to steal and pass off (the ideas or words of another) as one's own.

TYPES OF PLAGIARISM
Plagiarism comes in different forms. The following are the types:
• Mosaic Plagiarism
• Direct Plagiarism
• Accidental Plagiarism
• Self-plagiarism

WHAT IS MOSAIC PLAGIARISM?
It happens when a beginner steals phrases from a source without citing it. Or even finds synonyms for the author's language while keeping the content's fundamental structure and purpose.

WHAT IS DIRECT PLAGIARISM?
It is the copying of the other's work content in word-for-word transcription. Everything is copied from their ideas and content of their post.

WHAT IS ACCIDENTAL PLAGIARISM?
This occurs when you neglect to properly credit their sources or misquote them. Plagiarism can also include unintentional paraphrase or grouping of phrases that match another source. Accidental plagiarism is treated with the same seriousness as other forms of plagiarism

WHAT IS SELF-PLAGIARISM?
This comes when you have already submitted your work to the professor or the admin, and someone reuses it without the professor's consent. This might be deemed self-plagiarism as well.

SIGNIFICANCE OF PLAGIARISM
Plagiarism is defined as the act of copying or stealing someone else's work. If you plagiarize some works, you run the risk of ruining your reputation as an individual author. It pays you modest rates or benefits, and it's possible that your work will be downvoted in the community.

HOW TO AVOID PLAGIARISM?
Firstly, we need to know and learn about citation. Citation is a reference to the source of a certain information. It is when we quote by way of example, authority, or proof cites several noteworthy authors. It is important to learn more about citation and how to cite a text in order to use ones work or idea properly or in the right way.

By citing the author or source, we can use other people's statements or ideas in our own writing. It also broadens and enriches the scope of our content.

In conclusion, in a society where content creation is increasingly valued, it was unavoidable for someone to believe that copying or stealing other people's content would benefit them. Naturally, this has become very prevalent nowadays, and, unfortunately, individuals continue to do it in various ways all around the world as I write this. Malicious individuals will continue to appear in all places and at all times, but that doesn't mean we'll stop struggling with them.

I have learned that when we are in this platform we have to follow rules, there are do's and dont's. Being part of the of this platform and by reading its etiquette, I then understand that we have a big rolse in this community. We are taking part of this platform.
