Develop and maintain a quality maintenance culture
I have for some time nurtured this in my heart as to why people still leave in dilapidated houses. And the answer is clear lack of maintenance culture.
In Africa Nigeria to be specific has lots of dilapidated houses this could be attributed to poverty. Let's agree that the people are poor . But why do we have unmaintained
roads
schools
hospitals
markets, etc
All these are government facilities and the masses are tasked heavily yet it's poorly maintained .
Nigerian universities
It's very unfortunate that we're in a country that cares less on matters that concerns education. Quality education is not anywhere near the government's budget. Infact education is least on this presents government's agenda
Presently students of Rivers state school of health sciences are on protest over none provision of adequate learning facilities and poor condition of the school premises.

The children of the poor you failed to train will never let your children have peace.
~Obafemi Awolowo, Nigerian statesman
We can not even talk about the primary and secondary schools. The matter is highly embarrassing yet we bear the gaint of Africa .We need God's finger in this country.
Conclusion:
It's important to develop a good maintenance culture with it things won't go too bad.
Remember that
1️⃣. When we maintain our things we save more.
