Hello steemians welcome once again to my third achievement post, this particular one I will be centralizing on plagiarism.

What is plagiarism

When we talk about Plagiarism for me it is the Plagiarism is the representation of another author's language, thoughts, ideas, or expressions as one's own original work. In educational contexts, there are differing definitions of plagiarism depending on the institution. of plagiarism depending on the way you see it.

Plagiarism is simply copying another person's work, when we highlight this it's very important we realize that in some cases the person copying might come in collaboration with the person who has the original work. But all the same it is very much advisable for anyone to galvanize ideas instead of stealing another person's own. This will further bootress to the fact that we have different types of plagiarism.lets take a look at them one by follow.

Types of plagiarism

We have different types of plagiarism, but courtesy this achievement I will look into some of then, the first one I will be explain is

Direct plagiarism

Direct plagiarism can be defined as the word-for-word copyright of a section of another person's work, without making any form of contribution and without quotation marks included too. This is called deliberate plagiarism you copying someone else's work is unethical, academically dishonest, and cheat deliberately.

self plagiarism

Self-plagiarism have almost explained itself, it occurs when a student submits his own previous work, or mixes parts of previous works, without permission from the teacher involved. For instance, it will not be accepted to co-operate part of a piece of paper that you wrote in high school into a paper assigned in a college course outline.

Self-plagiarism also implies when you submit the same piece of work for assignments in different classes without past permission from both lectures/teachers.

Mosaic plagiarism

Mosaic Plagiarism, this par one occurs when a student borrows phrases/words from a source without using quotation/exclamation marks, or by so doing finding synonyms for the author’s
vocakized languages.

this occurs while keeping to the same general structure and meaning of the original. Of the content Sometimes it is called “patch writing,” this kind of paraphrasing, whether intentional or not, is academically dishonest and punishable if you are cought doing that, every body is advised to write on your own, galvanize knowledge, wisdom, and understanding.

Accidental plagiarism

Accidental plagiarism this particular one occurs when a person relents to cite their sources, or misquotes their sources, or unintentionally paraphrases a source Which has been officially sourced by using similar words that are related, groups of words, or sentence structure without proper attribution.

(See example for mosaic plagiarism.) Students must learn how to cite their sources effectively and to take careful and accurate notes when doing their important research.

causes of plagiarism

Plagiarismcauses
Plagiarismone of the causes of plagiarism is lack of ideas, wisdom, knowledge, and lack of proper understanding
Plagiarismanother cause of plagiarism is lack of total willingness to prepare before examination, trust me if you prepare well for your exams there is no way that you will cheat during exams
Plagiarismanother thing that makes people to plagiarise is inadequate supervision, let's take for example exams is going on and the invigilator is static watching and paying Keen attention to the students, trust me no one will have the chance to look around and copy from one another
PlagiarismAnother factor that makes people to plagiarise is curuption, if the system is currupt then everything about the system will be currupt too, let's say in a school that admits plagiarism on-like what we have in Nigeria today

How to stop plagiarism

  • I think in my own accessment plagiarism can be stop if adequate measures are put in place like technology let's say in a a hall where exams are taking place, cameras are been mounted everywhere you will find out that people will be afraid to cheat, knowing fully well that if they are caught they will be punished and brought to book.

  • Another way I think plagiarism can be stopped is by lecturing the students well, telling then all about the basics of what they needs to know at the appointed time, so that they won't fumble when the sit and see what they have been though initially.

  • Student should be allowed to read and prepare very well to avoid been a victim of plagiarism, even on steemit here some people indolge in the shameless act of plagiarising it's totally bad. Knowledge needs to be passed across so that plagiarism will be cut totally.
