The word content protocol is refer to as a way, or guide we as users in steemit are to follow when making an article in this great platform. it is also seen as a general pattern that direct users concerning the way to create nd put down content in this great community called steemit platform.
WHAT IS PLAGIARISM?
The word plagiarism is refer to the ability or the act in which a user carries another contents from a particular work and decides to make it his or hers and then post the article as if it belongs to him or her. it is a form of stealing someone's work and claim it to be yours just to get al the credit and glory form people who thinks it is rightfully yours but it was never yours.
We equally do have various types of plagiarism as though plagiarism is done in several ways which I will put them down for all of us to note.
TYPES OF PLAGIARISM
Plagiarism can be done in four different ways and this four different ways are considered to be the different types of plagiarism and they are as follows.
Direct plagiarism - In the case of the direct plagiarism, the plagiarist copies all the contents of an authors work without changing anything and brings it to another platform. here the plagiarist picks everything in the work of the main owner of that article and paste it in another platform it can also be in the same platform as the case may be. so the plagiarist do this neglecting to mention the rightful author of the work and when this is done, it is called direct plagiarism.
Mosaic plagiarism - Mosaic plagiarism is said to be a scenario that occurs when the plagiarist may have mentioned the real owner of the article but neglecting the relevant quoted part in the work or not paying attention to insert the necessary quotation marks found in the original source and hence it is regarded as mosaic plagiarism.
Self plagiarism - The self plagiarism can be seen as a scenario where a user is seen to copy his own article or content from a previous article that has been posted long ago and then bring it to post again in a particular platform, that is considered to be self plagiarism.
Accidental plagiarism - The accidental plagiarism is seen as an activity where the plagiarist accidental copied a particular phrase or word or even line from another author's article. this is not an intentional activity, it happens especially when the both users are talking about a related topic. so that haven been said is also considered as plagiarism and that is why it is being called accidental plagiarism because it is not intentional.
But all the above plagiarism can be avoided when we adhere to the following ways in which we can all avoid plagiarism in the steemit platform.
WHAT ARE THE WAYS TO AVOID PLAGIARISM?
We have different ways that can help us to an extent not to plagiarize in the steemit platform. these ways will helo us to be quality content writers and make us free from plagiarizing in the platform, some of these ways are as follows.
When ever you want to borrow a content from another user's work, make sure that all quotations are properly included in your worded in your work so that when it is been checked, it will indicate that you have well quoted the author of the original article.
It is essential to always include direct citation of major contents gotten from another work and make sure you note the cited text down for you to be free from plagiarism.
It is better to mention the owner of the work you copied so that you do not get to collect credit for a work you did not do by your self. for if this is not done, your work will be regarded as a plagiarized work.
Make sure that after writing an article, use the plagiarism tool checker to cross check your work very well so that you will not be caught in the at of plagiarism. the tool checker helps users to fish out a plagiarized content in a work.
Here is an example of a cited text as seen below.
A business plan is a formal written document containing the goals of a business, the methods for attaining those goals, and the time-frame for the achievement of the goals. It also describes the nature of the business, background information on the organization, the organization's financial projections, and the strategies it intends to implement to achieve the stated targets. In its entirety, this document serves as a road-map (a plan) that provides direction to the business.
