And today i will be doing my achievement 6 post task: Understanding Curation and Community. to complete my achievement post.

I will use this brief questions and answers to create my achievement 6 post.

Question 1: Voting and Curating

Before we proceed, i will tell us how the prize pool at steemit works. Steemit has a price pool where all steem are collected. When an author votes on another author's post. The reward the author that was voted for gets comes from this prize pool.

The prize pool do not give equal rewards to all steemit users. It actually works with your active steem power present in your steem wallet. E.g, you don't expect a user with 5000 active steem power to get the same reward with a user with 20000 active steem power.
Their rewards will be different, i.e the more steem power present in your wallet, the more vuable your votes will be.

We have two types of voting. Viz:

• Upvote
• Downvote
  We either upvote or downvote an authors post, and comments. You can downvote a post either by mistake or when you noticed that the author's goes against the steem rules to make the post.

How does the voting mana works?

As a steemian, we all have a voting mana. We can actually check our voting mana.

The voting mana goes down as we use it. And the lower it is, the less value your votes becomes. Which means when you upvote a post when your mana is 100% and when it's 90%, the value of the upvotes will not be the same. The reward you get when your voting mana is 100% will be more than when your mana is 90%.

Each time you cast a 100% vote, it uses 2% of your remaining voting mana. The voting mana is renewed by 20% every day. If you have more than 500 active steem power, your upvote bar appears and gives an option to set it on any percentage of your choice.

Do half of the rewards in the post that I upvote always come to me?

Yes, half of the rewards from the post you upvoted (either post or comment) goes to you and half to the author after exactly 7 days.

If you upvoted either a comment or post immediately its posted, it remains in the 100% curation rewards prize pool.
When its 1 minutes, the curator gets 20% and remains in the pool of 80% rewards, at 2minutes, its rises to 40%. That's how it goes on.

What are curation trails?

We actuallt have two ways to vote on steemit viz;

• manually.

• Automatically.

If we upvote an author's post by ourselves, its actually called manual upvote.

We can actually upvote on a post authomatically by using an autho vote in any third party app. This is called "Curation trail". Steemians always follow high ciration trail.

Who will you vote for Steem Witness ? And Why?

I'll vote @steemchiller as a Steem witness. Because Steemworld which was developed by him, its a user friendly tool. It is actually an applications that has all my account information like voting power, my rewards, delegation, acount info, curation, etc.

I'll also vote for @justyy. Because Steemyy which was developed by @justyy. It is a ver nice tool because, its very interactive and easy to use. Steemyy.com has our account info and with steemyy we can follow a curation trail and set our authomatical votes.

Which community will you join in Steemit, and why?

I have joined several communities. The picture above will show you all the communities have joined so far.
But i have choosen to write on just this 3 communities.

• Newcommers Community:

My reasons for joining this particular community, its because as a newcommer on steemit, its certain i do all my achievements, because its actually a means learning how to does steemit works, the functions of the steem different keys, to know the steem rules, to know how to apply markdowns to make my post more presentable and how to use steem different tools. All thanks to the steem greeters team their guidelines and support.

• Crypto Academy:
  

My reasons for joining the crypto academy community, its because its actually enhance my knowledge about crypto and this particular community is very supportive, though i haven't reach the 125 steem power and my reputation is not upto 50 to do the assignment and get rewarded. But i'm actually saving for that.

• Promosteem:
  

The Promosteem community is kinda compulsory because steemit is not a plartform we are suppose to keep to ourselves. Its meant to share as its has changed so many lives for the better. I joined this community so i can share my promoting activities there in promosteen community. And they're actually supportive too.

I have full knowledge on how the voting and curation works.

This is my achievement 6 post.
