Hello newcomers' community,i'm delighted to write again in this wonderful community, after having completed my introductory post(Achievement 1) and been verified. I am poised to take up the next task(Achievement 2). In this article i'm going to explain the following
1: How to save and retrieve your security keys on steemit

How to save and retrieve your security keys on steemit

After signing up on the steemit platform, the system generates keys to be used for different activities on our steemit user account in a PDF format. Upon receiving these keys we ensure to save them up either online in google drive or offline in a flash drive,so that we can retrieve each key from there when needed. This is important because there is no way to recover your account if you loose your password or owner key;because your account has an ideal value it is therefore important that you save your keys somewhere safe where you will not lose it.

The number of keys and their functions

We five unique keys, here are their names and functions.
1: Active key ÷ The active key is used for sensitive task such as transferring funds, placing a market order, voting for witnesses, power up/down transactions and converting steem dollars.
2: Posting key ÷ The posting key allows users to login to their accounts. It also allows user accounts to post, vote, comment, edit, resteem and follow or mute other accounts.
3: Memo key ÷ This key is used to encrypt and decrypt massages when transferring funds. In order to encrypt a memo, use the pound sign before it.
4: Owner key ÷ This key is powerful because it can change any key of an account, including the owner key. It is meant to be stored offline, and can only be used to recover a compromised account. The owner key is only meant for use when necessary.
5:Master password ÷ It is the password you get upon signing up. It is used to generate all the other keys, including the owner key. This password can only be used when you are going through the account recovery process. These make the master password the most outstanding key.
These are the basic knowledge we need to have concerning the names and functions of our steem keys.
