Hello wonderful people, I will be so delighted if you read my second post (Achievement 2) which I will be talking about the security in steemit blockchain. Let's move over to the business of the day.

Talking about security, it is the major aspect that every business minded person will have to consider before engaging in any business of their choice, sorry I went in the aspect of business. I have noticed that when writing in Steemit, you need to be aware of some important keys. I highly appreciate @bright15 for teaching me more about these keys.

In steemit, there are basically 5 permission keys which are listed below;

• Master key
• Posting key
• Active key
• Memo key
• Owner key

ACTIVE KEY

---

The main function of the active key is for confirmation of transactions and in user setting but can perform the work of the Owner key apart from changing the Owner key itself. It is also used in posting.

MEMO KEY

---

The memo key is the only key that is uniquely used for encryption (converting information or data into codes ) and decryption (converting an encrypted message back to its original form ) of private messages sent & received via your Steemit account.

OWNER KEY

---

To own means to be in possession of something.
The owner key gives you access to change other keys and it is one of the most relevant keys in steemit.
It also gives you the access to login your steemit account at any time.

MASTER KEY

---

The master key as the name implies is the highest permission key and its designed to perform special activities like changing of other keys. It can also be called steemit password because it manipulate other keys and rests at the top of the chain.

POSTING KEY

---

The posting key is that permission key that helps an account owner to expose a write up or an image to be viewed by individuals. Although, posting is the relevant activity performed with this key.

Another important feature of this key is the fact that it exempts a person to having direct contact with his wallet thereby protecting the money. Other uses of this key are listed below;

• To Upvote (showing support).
• To Publish a post or comment.
• To downvote (demoting).
• To Follow people.
• To Edit a post or comment.

HOW TO SECURE YOUR KEYS

I believe everyone has various ways to secure their keys based on the explanation given to me but the most important thing to know is that you must have your keys secured.
After @bright15 created my account, he told me to make sure I keep my details safe and immediately I copied my master key and other keys to my Gmail account where I can always have access to it even if my phone unfortunately gets missing and locked my PDF reader with a strong password to prevent anyone from accessing it.

PROCEDURES FOR TRANSFERRING YOUR STEEM TOKEN TO ANOTHER STEEM USER ACCOUNT

👉 Click on the round icon that covers your profile, then click on wallet and sign in to your wallet.

👉 Click on your steem balance.

---

👉 Click on transfer in the options that displayed when you clicked on your steem balance.

---

👉 Insert the username of the person you want to transfer to and the amount you will like to transfer, then click on next and confirm the transaction.

HOW TO POWER UP YOUR STEEM

👉 Click on the icon that covers your profile.

---

👉 Log in to your wallet.

---

👉 Click on your steem balance.

---

👉 Click on power up in the options that displayed when you clicked on your steem balance.

👉 Insert the amount you will like to power up then click on power up to confirm the transaction.
