PLAGIARISM
Plagiarism is when someone uses another author's words, thoughts, ideas, or expressions as their own without their consent or properly crediting the source.
source
Plagiarism is presenting someone else's work as your own or by incorporating it into your work without full acknowledgement.
Plagiarism is a type of theft, it is unethical. You are stealing someone else's intellectual property when you take someone else's ideas and thoughts and claim them as your own.
Plagiarism is a serious crime, whether it is intentional or unintentional, because it ensures that a writer's work is his or her own.
TYPES OF PLAGIARISM
There are different kinds of plagiarism, some of which include;
(1) Direct Plagiarism
Direct plagiarism is the most destructive of the several types of plagiarism.
Direct plagiarism occurs when a plagiarist copies and pastes content from someone else's work without citing the source or removing quote marks.
(2)Mosaic Plagiarism
Unintentional plagiarism is another sort of plagiarism. In this situation, the plagiarist may have indicated the content's source. However, if the writer fails to acknowledge the quoted passage or correctly place it between quotation marks, he or she is guilty of plagiarism.
(3) Accidental Plagiarism
Accidental plagiarism is another typical type of plagiarism. This kind of Plagiarism occurs when a plagiarist misquotes sentences or parts of a text borrowed from a source, fails to properly cite the source, or cites the wrong source.
(4)Self Plagiarism
Self-plagiarism is when you reuse work that has already been submitted or published. Presenting a paper or a piece of data as completely new when you've already been given credit for the effort is considered dishonest.
When you use ideas, phrases, or facts from earlier assignments, you are committing self-plagiarism.
(5)Paraphrasing plagiarism
Rephrasing a passage of text in your own words is known as paraphrasing. Plagiarism is most commonly committed via paraphrasing without citation.
Paraphrasing plagiarism also occurs when you translate a piece of content from another language without citing it. Because you're employing someone else's ideas, you should always cite translated text.
So long as you correctly cite your sources, paraphrasing is not plagiarism. When you read a source and then rewrite its points as if they were your own, you've committed plagiarism.
HOW TO AVOID PLAGIARISM
(1)Use quotation marks
If you wish to cite a brief passage from another author verbatim, make sure to include the words in quotation marks to show that it's a direct quote.
(2) Use the Plagiarism checker
You can use various Plagiarism detection tools to see how much of your work is plagiarised
(3)Develop your own style
You should develop your own style of writing articles, contests in order to create your own interesting and inspirational blogs.
(4)Cite your sources.
After downloading text or image from the internet, always try to cite the source.
