Hello, Steemians from the Newcomer Community wherever you are, I hope you are well, in this post I want to continue the third assignment or Achievement 3 given to new Steemit members like me, in this third assignment or Achievement 3 this will be discussing Content Etiquette.

What is Content Etiquette? It is paying attention to boundaries before taking work or material from these sources, this Content Etiquette is closely related to plagiarism.

Therefore, new Steemit users are required to understand this, so that plagiarism does not occur in the Steemit community, the purpose of this task is to be of our concern and to be able to guide us to be more creative in the Steemit community.

Definition of Plagiarism

According to the Merriam-Webster online dictionary, to "plagiarize" means:

• to steal and pass off (the ideas or words of another) as one's own
• to use (another's production) without crediting the source
• to commit literary theft
• to present as new and original an idea or product derived from an existing source

In other words, plagiarism is an act of fraud. It involves both stealing someone else's work and lying about it afterward.Source

Plagiarism Type

Plagiarism is divided into all types and forms, and all of them are serious offenses, therefore here are examples of plagiarism that you should know Source

  • Direct Plagiarism

Is the act of taking word for word from another person's work without attribution and without quotation marks, and also does not include the source, this action can be called direct theft, because it is not known by the original creator.

  • Self Plagiarism

Is an act of reusing one's own work that has been given or sent for a purpose, for example, when a student submits the same work to a different class without prior permission from the teacher.

  • Mosaic Plagiarism

Is when someone takes or borrows a phrase from a source without mentioning or quoting the source, this often happens when someone uses a phrase or synonym for a language and does not provide an exact quote.

  • Accidental Plagiarism

It is when someone accidentally or neglects to quote the source, or misquotes the source, or accidentally changes the source by using a similar word, word group, or sentence structure without attributes.

It is hoped that every member of Steemit can follow these guidelines, this guide is intended to increase politeness and Etiquette in this Steemit community, it's good if new members read about The Complete Steemit Etiquette Guide (Revision 2.0) -Homage

Plagiarism should be avoided, this is not only detrimental to others but also harming ourselves, where our ability to be creative will decrease because we always steal ideas from other people, it's good to be creative because at Steemit it's not just about how much you make, but how much you benefit others.

And if you really have to quote something from someone else's work, always include the source, because that way we already appreciate their person's work, because it's uncomfortable when the work we have made is painstakingly taken but just taken without mentioning us as the original creator.

"I have read and understood the Steemit Etiquette on Steemit Community and will do my best to embrace them"
