Achievement 2- Basic Steemit Security

Hello steemian, and good evening, I still remain @kindnessboy, and this is my achievement 2, here I will be writing on the basic steemit security and how to prevent your account from being hack by scammers.

Question 1

Have you retrieved all your keys on steemit

Yes, this is the first thing that I was being advice to do because when going through the terms and conditions I found out that when your key miss that you automatically lose the funds because it can not be recovered and so by this I decided to copy out my steemit keys and keep it in a safe place that water will not enter, I also saved the key in my flash drive.

Question 2

Do you know the functions and restrictions of each key.

• Master key
  This is the key that is used when a newbie is just starting you use the master key to get all other keys which makes it very important, because once someone has your master key he or she can get every other of your steemit key and your account will be at risks.

• Private posting key
  This key is used on steemit platforms such as steemit community, posting etc we also make use of this key to upvote content that is creative and also to downvote plagiarized content

• Owner key
  The owner key is the type of key that the user use when he or she wants to reset his or her steemit keys and is being used when the owner of the account feel is account is not safe so he or she will decide to reset it

• Private active key
  It is a key that is being use for mostly transaction matter we use it in completing most of the transaction such as transfering of steem and powering up of steem, it is a very vital key that is very important .

• Memo key
  The memo key is used for the transferring and also for decoding and decrypting of memo

How do you plan to keep your master password

As earlier explain, master key is a very important key and as I save my other steemit key I will also carefully write out my master key and also keep it in a place free from water and also save it in my flash drive for safety reasons.

Question 4

Do you know how to transfer your steem token to another steem user account?

Yes, I knew how to do this by reading online and I will be making a brief steps

• Step 1
  You have to login to your account with your posting key to begin the process

• Step 2
  Search for the option that says transfer steem or SBD to any accounts and click on it

• Step 3
  Then look for the option that says steem power and click on it then send it to the steem account of your choice after writing details of the recieving steem account

• Step 4
  Here your private active key is required and immediately it is provided the steem or sbd will be transferred

Do you know how to power up your steem

Yes i do and this will be done in steps

• Step 1
  You will have to login to your wallet with the help of your steemit posting key

• Step 2
  Click on the the arrow close to the steem

• Step 3
  Select the option that says power up

• Step 4
  Write the amount you wish to power up

• Step 5
  Once you insert the key needed which is the private active key the steem amount will be powered up and your steem power will increase
