I am aware that we are being provided with passowrds and variety of keys for our basic security on steemit, which is for our own security benefits. It is necessary for everyone on steem to know the importance and uses of each password and keys given to us.

I gained all passwords and keys just after creating my account, I then saved them all in various ways in order to protect them and have access to them anytime i want.

Do you all the functions and restrictions of the keys?

Yes , the guide given to us contains all the functions and restrictions of every single key. The guide made it simple in understanding all the keys and their various uses. With this i can boldly state that the;

• Master Key

This password helps in obtaining all other keys of an account including the owner key . The master key is use in recovering an account .

• Active key

with the help on this password we are able to perform multiple operations such us, updating a profile , transferring of funds and placing of orders in a market.

• Posting Key

I can say it the most used key on this platform because it is used in publishing daily posts, comments, resteems and vote . this makes it the most compromise key of the system since its frequent use becomes sensitive an vulnerable ; Thats why there is a limit to its use so as not compromise different keys .

• Owners Key

This key is considered to be the most powerful key amongst all the keys . it is highly recommended to save this key offline because it can be use to change any key of an account including itself.

• Memo Key

It is use in sending encrypted messages and maintain communication between users. when the pound sign is used before a memo, it encrypts the memo.

How do you plan to keep your master key safe?

Because of the importance of all the keys i decided to safe them all in various places such as , emails, keychain , google drive , print out.
