Welcome to Steemit hope you enjoy it here, i live in NZ and its nice to meet you - great verification photo as well.

You should follow @steemitblog as they run competitions/events that will help get you involved in our growing platform.

You said you want to write more, there are competitions that will enable you to write all you like. Post real life stuff and you will be fine :)
