MY STEEMIT ACCOUNT SECURITY
Hello, Today I am going to share my Achievement 2 Post on “Basic Security on Steemit.”
When you create a new steemit account, you'll be prompt to download a pdf containing your login keys...
am here today to teach you or show you the important of that file you downloaded and how to keep it safe too.
I created this account earlier this year, I downloaded the file containing my Posting Key, Active Key, Owner Key, and Memo Key.
All this keys are like your crypto wallet secret words, you don't share it to anybody.
There are many was to keep this file or the keys safe and also not to loose it:
Backing up the file in the cloud, I think that's the safest way, and keep you password secure by being sure of the kind of network you connect to, be 100% sure of the network provider before connecting to a WiFi.
HOW TO RETRIEVE MY KEYS IF LOST
Use your private owner key to reset all other keys if lost or maybe you think your account is not secure anymore.
ALL THE KEYS AND FUNCTIONS OF ALL THE KEYS
Posting Key:
It's used for posting content on steemit. We can upvote and Downvote a post using this key. Besides commenting on posts, follow, unfollow, and re-steem can be done using this Key. We should use this key while we are posting via steemit login. This key has no power to transfer funds.
Active Key:
This key is more powerful, It gives us the power to transfer funds, power up, power down, SBD Conversion, vote a witness, and update our profile. Besides any transaction into the market must be authorized by this key. For witnesses, it gives also gives the power to update the price feed and create new users.
Owner Key:
This is the most powerful key of all those keys. We can use this to recover the account. To reset all the Owner key, Active key, and Posting Key. Using this key we can decline vote rights.
Memo Keys:
To encrypt a memo this key is used. So that the sender and receiver only can see the memo. To encrypt a memo use “#” at the start of the memo.
Do you know you can transfer your STEEM token to someone?
For this process, first I need to go to wallet section. On my Steem balance, I have to click. From the drop-down, I have to select transfer.
After this, a window will pop up. Here I have to provide another user account, amount, and memo. We have to click Next. In this window, we have provided a steem Username and Active Key to verify this transaction.
HOW DO YOU PLAN TO KEEP YOUR MASTER KEY SAVE?
Am going to give it my best in keeping my master key save because it has been made known to me that it is the only key I can use to generate all other keys.
HOW TO TRANSFER STEEM TOKEN TO OTHER USERS AND HOW TO POWER UP
Steps:
Open your Steemit wallet then click on the arrow.
click on the transfer been popped up or power up and fill up the blanks, click on next, then click on transfer or power up.
keep your account safe from hack, keep your keys safe.
