So far, Song Kang Ho 's works can only be seen on the big screen. After 32 years, the actor finally decided to take on a Korean drama project.
Song Kang Ho is confirmed to star in the Korean drama Uncle Sam Sik. The drama tells the story of the closeness between two men, Uncle Sam Sik and Kim San. This story will focus on the bromance of the two as they struggle to live in the era of the 60s.
This drama will be Song Kang Ho's second time working with director Shin Yeon Sik. Previously, they had collaborated on two different film projects, One Win and Cobweb, which are currently in development.
One Win is the first Korean film to feature volleyball. In this film, Shin Yeon Sik will sit in the director's chair as well as the scriptwriter and producer. As for the Cobweb film, the director also participated in writing the script.
Regarding this news, Slingshot Studio as the production house explained that Uncle Sam Sik will consist of 10 episodes. Sam Sik's character is told to have a number of different narratives.
"Sam Sik, the main character in a drama consisting of 10 parts, Uncle Sam Sik, has various narratives," said one of the production team.
"Actor Song Kang Ho is expected to bring this character to life. We will produce and present high-quality dramas for viewers," he concluded.
Actor Song Kang Ho for 32 years entertained audiences through quality films that were screened globally. A number of his films that stole the attention were Snowpiercer, A Taxi Driver to Parasite.
Not long ago, Song Kang Ho also stole global attention through the film Broker. And his latest film, Emergency Declaration, can still be seen in theaters.
