Hello steemians,

I'm about to write a post about plagiarism, including its meaning, various forms of plagiarism, and various methods for avoiding plagiarism.

Plagiarism is said to be one of the things that is forbidden in the steemain culture, which encourages its members to think creatively. But first, let's clarify what plagiarism is all about.

What is plagiarism:

Plagiarism comes from the Latin word 'plagiarius,' which means 'to cheat.' Plagiarism occurs when someone uses another artist's work, concept, invention, or write-up without properly referencing the source or crediting the original author, among other things. Plagiarism is a type of intellectual theft that is illegal and punishable by law. Plagiarism is classified into many categories.

Types of plagiarism:

1.) Direct plagiarism:

This is when you rewrite an author's work word for word without changing a single comma or fullstop. That is, you simply copy everything you see exactly as it is.

2.) Mosaic plagiarism:

This type of plagiarism happens when a student borrows phrases from a source without quoting them, or finds similar terms that are not in the author's language while maintaining the original content's general structure and sense.

3.) Accedental plagiarism:

When a person forgets to cite their sources, cites or misquotes them, or accidentally paraphrases a source by using similar or identical terms, groups of words, or sentence structure without attribution, this is known as accidental plagiarism.

4.) Self plagiarism:

This can be seen in cases where a work's author reuses his or her own ideas for the second time without the professor's permission. As a result, even though the concept was his, the writer could also use citations and references throughout the novel.

5.) Rephrasing plagiarism:

Rephrasing a piece of text in your own words is an example of this form of plagairism. This is the most prevalent form of plagiarism, according to experts.

WHY Do WE STAY AWAY FROM PLAGIARISM?

Since learning what there is to know about plagiarism and understanding that it is legal, it is important that we do everything we can to stop it, as plagiarism is considered fraud, which carries a variety of repercussions, punishments, and penalties. We will prevent plagiarism by always citing where we got our ideas and by knowing and using effective paraphrasing techniques.
Our minds will become dormant as a result of frequently copying other people's work, and we will be unable to come up with new innovative ideas to inspire ourselves and our society as a whole. As a result, we, along with the rest of the steem community, say a resounding NO TO PLAGIARISM.
