Good evening steemians 😋. After my achievement 3 I want to go over to my achievement 4 and I'll be writing on the Ancient dynasties of China.

The first dynasty according to some historians was the Xia dynasty Many historians claimed the story of ancient Xia dynasty are nothing but myths, but recent excavations has been done uncovering some amazing sites matching the description in earlier historians accounts.

According to historians, there was once a great ruler named Huang-ti also known as the yellow emperor. During his reign, he invented musical instruments, developing the production of silk and the development of medicine and agriculture. After many years floods disturbed the stability of the Xia dynasty. A man named Gun was appointed to solve the problem, but all his efforts proved futile. Rumour has it that he either committed suicide for incompetency or he exiled himself.

Later his son named Yun was appointed to solve the problem.
Yun learned from his father's mistakes and was able to stop the flooding. Later the emperor as at that time promoted him to be a general in the army and afterwards he was crowned king because of his achievements in war.

The Xia dynasty started to decline under the rulership of emperor Kong Jia who cared more for wine than the empire. They were later attacked and the Shang dynasty sprung up and later the Zhou dynasty.

The Zhou dynasty lasted for 790 years, making it the longest time a dynasty reigned in China. The Zhou dynasty made great advancement in areas like; hydraulic engineering, literature, mathematics, art and warfare.
Sunshu Ao, the first ever known hydraulic engineer came from the great Zhou dynasty. He led the project of constructing a large river dam to create an irrigation reservoir which supplied water to an astounding area of 6million acres.

Differences between Xia dynasty and Zhou dynasty

The Xia dynasty focused on crafting and building strong armies. The emperors during the Xia dynasty acted anyhow they wanted leading to their downfall.	meanwhile the Zhou dynasty made significant contribution to medicine, Chinese literature, agriculture and education which helped the dynasty to last long. The emperors that ruled in the Zhou dynasty introduced a political doctrine known as the "mandate of heaven".The Zhous agreed that any ruler that does something against the rules must be dethroned.
