Saturdays are for chilling and that's pretty much what I did today.
After walking the dogs, I had a friendly match of tennis planned at 10 AM. It was me and my partner Marion against our friend Karen and her sister who is visiting from the Netherlands. It's a relatively small place where we live, and we don’t have many good level tennis players around. We are always very pleased to have someone good joining us on Saturdays.
Here's a little after the match photo.
We had a coffee at the tennis club. Talked about ... life – as you do. Our friend who is staying at a hotel told us about the way things were organised at the breakfast buffet. Apparently, everything is packaged individually and a lot of items (like bread, for instance) is packed in plastic. To think that just a year ago a lot of countries were making headway at reducing the use of plastic. Seems like a distant memory.
When we got home, our daughter was making pancakes. She got into baking during the lockdown in March and has been surprising us with all sorts of treats since. Today it was pancakes, much to my utter delight.
After the pancake-brunch we decided to spend some time at the poolside. It's something that we try to do every now and then during the weekend. Very relaxing. Good chance to do some reading. I am currently on page 397 of Lethal White by Robert Galbraith. I have enjoyed all the previous books in the series but this one is taking ages to finish. Doesn't quite have the same pace to it, I suppose.
We briefly considered going out for dinner. But then I remembered the new rule: masks are now compulsory in restaurants and you are only allowed to take them off to eat. Because of that going to a restaurant doesn’t have the same appeal to it at moment. We therefore decided to stay in and cook at home instead.
Cooking is great. You open a bottle of wine, put on some background music and get slicing and chopping while having a conversation.

Hi @meritlookene. Hope the doubles match went on well. I believe it's your team that won that tennis double's friendly match.
We have something in common. I am also a tennis player and a coach as well. I am currently running a charity tennis academy in Uganda "mukono tennis academy" I love tennis and I have played it for over 15 years. Represented my country in various junior tennis tournaments during my early ages.
Those are very uniquely prepared pancakes. They are way bigger than the pancakes we make in Uganda. I hope one time in the future to have a taste of them and find out their difference that is when I happen to come to Spain.

Hi @yohan2on! Thank you for the comment and indeed, tennis was enjoyable. Great to meet a fellow tennis enthusiast. I have learned in the last few months that pancakes come in all sorts of shapes and sizes. They mostly still taste like pancakes, though :)
