Achievement 2 @mirakhelly Task: Basic Security on Steem

Hello everyone, how are you?. Today I am very happy to participate in achievement 02 after I have been away from this family for months now due to one reason or the other. So this is about being aware of the security of the account. I completed my tasks for achievement 01 about some months ago and thank you @inspiracion for verifying me. I want to believe the basic aim for this achievement is to know the importance of master key,how to transfer Steem to another user, how to power up Steem.

HOW CAN I KEEP MY STEEM ACCOUNT SECURE

I can do that by simply saving my master password to my Google drive or i write it down in my diary so I won't misplace or forget it. I would only log into my account using posting key for daily loggings or any of my key for specific purpose. I would also make sure no one knows about my keys or password.
I know these steemit keys to be; master password, active key, posting key, owner key, and memo key.

QUESTION 1: HAVE YOU RETRIEVE ALL YOUR KEYS ON STEEMIT??

Yes I have. On the day I created my steemit account I received all my keys. So I quickly downloaded the PDF file and stored it in my drive where I think will be safe for me.

QUESTION 2: DO YOU KNOW EACH OF THESE KEY FUNCTIONS AND RESTRICTION??

Like I wrote earlier, steemit has five major keys used for various activities. Below is a detailed explanation.

Posting key - The posting key allows accounts to post, comment, edit, vote, resteem, and follow or mute other accounts. Most users should be logging into Steemit every day with the posting key.

Active key - The active key is meant for more sensitive tasks such as transferring tokens, power up/down transactions, converting Steem Dollars, voting for witnesses, updating profile details and avatar, and placing a market order.

Memo key - The memo key is used to decrypt and encrypt memos on the platform when transferring funds.

Owner key - The owner key is only meant for use when necessary. It is the most powerful key because it can change any key of an account. Ideally it is meant to be stored offline, and only used to recover a compromised account within 30 days.

Master password - The master password is used to derive all keys for your account including the owner key. If someone has access to your master password, they can steal your account and all of the tokens and funds in it.

QUESTION 3: HOW DO YOU PLAN TO KEEP YOUR MASTER PASSWORD??

I plan to keep my master password safe by:

Memorizing it- I will attempt to retain and memorize my master password and all keys included. I know it's extremely lengthy yet I believe in the span of one month I will be able to remember it. I believe this will be more secured than saving it on a gadget.

In as much as an electronic gadget is not reliable, I will consider saving it on my device or PC.

I would also want to keep the master password alongside other keys safe by having a hardcopy of each of them.

QUESTION 4: DO YOU KNOW HOW TO TRANSFER YOUR STEEM TOKEN TO ANOTHER STEEM USER ACCOUNT ??

• Step 1: Log into your steemit wallet using your posting key

• Step 2: Click on balances, a list of items like Steem, Steem power, savings, etc would appear.

• Step 3: Click on just Steem another option would appear.

• Step 4: Click on transfer.

• Step 5: Enter the recipients name.

• Step 6: Enter the amount.

• Step 7: confirm transfer and then click ok.

QUESTION 5. DO YOU KNOW HOW TO POWER UP YOUR STEEM??

• Step 1: Log into your Steem wallet using your posting key

• Step 2: Click on balances

• Step 3: Click on Steem, a list will appear.

• Step 4:Click on power up

• Step 5: Enter the amount you want to power up

• Step 6: Click power up to power up your Steem
