Hi there wonderful people of the steemit community,i am pleased to tell you that i have carefully taken my time to understand and adequately digest the use of all various keys and no an i write my achievement 2 post on Basic security of steemit keys and their functions

Upon joining steemit, i was prompted to save a document containing keys to access my account which i did, i was also made to know the importance of the documents safety and how i can lose my account if it ends up in the hands of another person. To avoid loss of account and document,i saved a copy of the document on my computer and passworded,uploaded a copy to my google drive and passworded the copy i have on my phone.

It is very risky if ones keys get lost or is shared with someone else as one could lose all assets in the account if not total access to the account.

POSTING KEY

The key thats grants daily login access to ones steemit account,it is used to perform daily activities posting,blogging,commenting and voting.
It cannot be used for monetary actions

ACTIVE KEY

A very important key because it is used for monetary related actions e.g transfer of steem, for powering steem up or down,converting SBD and so on...

OWNER KEY

I like to call it the omega key because it can be used to recover a compromised account and change all other keys because of its high level of authority. I advise all steemians to properly safeguard this key especially.

MEMO KEY

Used to view messsages that are encrypted on the steemit website

MASTER PASSWORD

It can be used to generate all other keys. Immediately after sign up an individual is given a password, this is the master password. It is used during account recovery process also.
