Achievement 6 : Knowledge About Curation, Witness and Communities@mostaqul-bangladesh

Assalamu Alaikum. Hope everyone is well. I'm fine too. I am Md. Mostaqul Mozid. I live in Dhaka. I work at the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET). I am a member of BUET. Having completed my Achievement 5 task 4, I now bring to you my Achievement 6 task in which I will discuss my knowledge about Curation, Witness, and Community in the platform.

Do you understand how voting and curation work on Steemit?

This is an important question for Steemit users. Every member of Steemit has the right to vote another user on the platform and this vote is based on the weight of the voter's Steem Power (SP). First, we need to know how to vote on others' posts. Before a user votes, the user should have a knowledge that the user is voting on a post based on original, high quality and properly written posts. Besides, there should be an idea about curation.

The image above shows the two voting buttons that we have on our Steemit platform. A steemian can only upvote (give rewards) to another user using the green button. Red button is used when a user posts suspicious features. It is also called downvote. Whenever you upvote a post, your power in voting mana will decrease but after some time it will recharge and return to around 20% per day. Each post has 7 days to vote. Posts cannot be voted on after 7 days. Each post has 7 days for payment. Authors withdraw their prize after payment. The reward is split 50/50 for Steam Power and SBD.

What happens if you vote on a post within 5 minutes of posting?

We all know that when we get an upvote we as author get 50% author reward and curators get another 50% reward after 7 days of posting. When it comes to voting, timing plays an important role There is a 5 minute time limit between post drop and voting time. If we vote on a post 5 minutes before posting then a percentage of the curation prize will be returned to the prize pool. For your better understanding, I am explaining it with a table.

Who will you vote for steem Witness? And why?

As a newbie, I completed achievement 5 by providing useful basic tools or applications like steemworld.org, steemyy.com and steemscan.com. The creators of these applications or tools are @steemchiller, @justyy, and @futureshock respectively. I used their various applications or tools to complete my tasks. For this reason, I want to vote for them.

Which community would you join on Steemit and why?

I have already joined some communities.
