This part of achievement teaches me a lot about how curation work in steam, what witness is all about, and how to vote for a witness. I have also learned how to create and join a community of my choice, how to join a curation trail, and finally, how I can be able to use 3rd party applications like discord.
DO YOU UNDERSTAND HOW VOTING AND CURATION WORKS IN STEEMIT?
YES
Just like on Facebook, people post and content is liked, which shows appreciation for the content for the post content.in steemit, voting is done in a like manner to show appreciation for the post and content depending on the quality of the content and post. the outstanding difference between Facebook and steemit is that voting done in steemit comes with reward the author and curator rewards. this process is called curation.
I understand that the reward got by the author of the content depending on the steem power of the votes or curator. the more steel power the person has, the greater the reward pool will be received, therefore means that the voting rate and reward depend on your Steem power.
The voting power can be likened to a phone, the more you make use of it, the more the power will reduce, so your voting reduces when you constantly vote .just like phone charge to 100%, so also your voting power charge 100%, then for every time you vote, 2% of your voting power is reduced, this implies that the power your voting is also reducing, their first one you vote will get high reward than the subsequent one that follows. the good news about voting power is that it charges itself about 20% every day, we can always give it time to recharge fully.
For new babies in the system that does not have 500s.p, they still have a voting strength of 1-100%, but once my s.p is 500 and above, the voting strength can be set to a percentage limit. always remember to give it time to be fully charged.
CURATION REWARD; 50% of your post will go to the author of the post after 7days of making the post, while the other 50% goes to the curators based on the percentage reward, Note also that the more Steem power sone one has, the more curator rewards he or she gets through curation.
Downvoting does not add value to the curator but rather, it reduces the reward of the author, but in any case where upvote is high than the downvote, the author will still gain some reward, unless otherwise.
WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU VOTE POST BEFORE FIVE MINUTES MARKS AFTER POSTING?
The best time for any curator to vote for a post should be 5miunte after the post is made so that he can gain a 100% curator reward.
This can be illustrated in the table below;

These are just some of the communities that I join and many more which I can not mention all of, and I will still join if after considering the mission and vision of such a community.
