Tagging is a short word that gives a direct idea of what classification your post is all about and to whom you wanted to address your content. In Steemit we are asked to include not more than 8 different tags and they must be written in small letters. Most curators will curate posts in the specification of tag threads. This will also direct your readers to their interests. Do not duplicate your tags and do not use tags that are irrelevant to your posts, it is useless and confusing. Improper tagging is also one of the reasons why there are some newcomers' posts that are left unsupported which made them get discouraged from continuing their Steemit journey.
What are the specific tags to be used if you are a Newcomer?
Most Newcomers have no idea yet what are tags to be used on their Achievement Task posts. To clarify your confusion please follow the tags listed below.
#achievement1 ( the number may vary according to your task level from Achievement 1 until 6)- Use this as your first tag to identify immediately at what level of your achievement task. Make sure that all your Achievement task contains 300 words or more and must deliver the exact information at every task level.
#newcomer- This tag is often misspelled, do not add the “s” on it( #newcomers❎, #newcomer✅)this is the main tag where most curators will look for a post from a Newcomers. So don't miss your chance to receive an upvote by just adding the word "s” to it. This is the most important tag to Newcomers from 0-3 months as the @steemcurator09 will support your post on the said month as your initial capital in building your steempower.
#steemexclusive- The post that is created exclusively for the Steemit platform, meaning your post is never been published. If you already published your post on other social media blogging sites it is already identified as “self-plagiarism” since you already earned from it.
#your country (ex. #nigeria)- This is one of the most important tags, especially for those who are not English speakers. There are greeters who are assigned to verify Achievement tasks according to their country of origin and languages.
#club5050, #club75, #club100- To know more about these clubs you may read this post "Newcomers' Tutorial Part 1: How to join the #club5050 initiative and how can you adapt this rule". Always remember that you are not allowed to use the club if your power-up does not correspond to the club status.
#burnsteem25- This tag is a Steemit initiative in which you will have to set 25% of your payout to @null. This is optional since you are a newcomer and you still need to gather steem to build your steem power. Yet in the long run, this is essential and you need to apply this tag for your post to be likely curated as well.
Tags are the keywords for your posts to be seen and have a chance to be curated. For example, if curators wanted to curate a post from the #newcomer tags they will just type https://steemit.com/created/newcomer, this link will bring the curators to all post that uses a #newcomer tag. And if the curators wanted to see travel posts then omit the word “newcomer”, then change it to “travel”. Again, don't misspell any tags because it won't be seen by curators and you will possibly miss the chances of their upvotes.
Here are some of the reasons why your Achievement task left unverified
If you are a Newcomer, hand right your username, date of submission, and country while holding a paper. Make sure that your both hands are visible so you won't be mistaken for a fake account. A digitally printed name is considered invalid. Introduce yourself in more than 300 words talking about your hobbies, your profession, your family, your experience, and in what niches you are interested. Do not use photos with too much filter and use a clean piece of paper with your readable handwritten information.
Greeters will detect your posts using plagiarism detector tools and AI-generated post detectors, so we can identify some posts that are plagiarized, copied digitally, and those with multiple accounts. If you are caught then we put your account under the “KIV” badge meaning you are a plagiarist or content farmer.
If a greeter corrected your posts but you fail to respond to his/her feedback for any correction that needs to be done, then the greeter will wait until you follow what is instructed. After correcting your Achievement task, mention the greeter to re-check your Achievement task for verification. You don't need to repost your Achievement task, just edit and do some corrections.
Copyright-free images are advised. A plagiarist badge will be given to those who are not giving proper reference to the original source of the words and pictures that they used.
Achievement 4 is the most crucial of all of the Achievement tasks. Most users failed on this level because they listed commands instead of applying them to their posts. For you to get verified create content containing those basic important markdowns. This Achievement task is your starting point towards your blogging journey.
Reminder:Those successful users that we look up here in Steemit were once a Newcomers too. As a Newcomer, you played an essential role on this platform, as all of us undergo this level. I hope this article might help those new ones on this platform especially those who are still struggling in building their account and get verified in their Achievement Tasks.
