Njoke Raisa @njokeraisa is a lady with a passion for tech, arts and media. She studied at the Catholic University of Cameroon Bamenda, Trinitech Institute Beltsville, Maryland via distance learning and specialized in systems administration, Africa Institute of Information Technology (AFRIITECH) where she did web development.
She started reading at a very young age, something that fostered her love for writing, thanks to her parents who limited her screen time.
A poet on the Black Swagger stage with two nominations at the New Breed Africa Celebrity Award in the category of spoken word artist of the year, her poems are admired by many and she has been profiled and recognized nationally and internationally. She is currently the youngest columnist for the Independent Observer Newspaper and the Reporter and a former radio host, all of which got her an ICFJ Knight International Journalism award nomination in 2020. Over the years her work as a climate activist has been evident and in 2020 she was made a Green Ambassador for the climate in Africa, and in 2021 she was named World Bank Group Youth Climate Ambassador. As a writer she is notable for winning the 1st prize at the Sama Randy Youth Write Contest in 2020 with the essay “Celebrate the adequately and the Cameroonian web series “Kanjo series” whose sequel is still in post-production.
As an avid reader, i guess there is just no secret to the fact that you can find my around libraries and bookstands at odd hours. I read everything from almost genres. My favourite authors are Nigerian erudite writer Chimamanda Adichie, and Cameroon's pen darling Imbolo Mbue whose book 'Behold the dreamers' remains on top of my reading list. As a poet i draw a lot of inspiration from Nigerian poet and engineer Titi Sonuga.
When i was introduced and guided on this platform by @njiatanga , I was immediately enthused to be a part of such a platform. A huge thanks to @kryptocannon for creating such a global forum which is so enriching. My expectations from Steemit are to create content that people can relate to, with as well as make a fortune , and also to network and get to read beautiful write-ups from fellow Steemians.
