ACHIEVEMENT 2 @nwakanwa TASK:BASIC SECURITY ON STEEM.

As a steemian it’s important to know the various keys necessary ,their functions and when to use them. There are

basically five important keys on steemit community; they are-

The posting key
The active key
The master key
The owner key
The memo key

THE POSTING KEY: This key basically enables your account to comment, post, edit, vote, resteem on other account. It also enables you to follow or mute another account. Regularly, it is used to log into accounts on a daily basis . It mitigates the problem of having your account being compromised, because of its complex nature.

THE ACTIVE KEYS: This key is essential for wallet related activities such as transfer of funds, conversion of steem dollars, voting of witnesses, profile detail update as well as avatar, power up/down transactions, and placing a market order.

THE MASTER KEY: The master key as the name suggest is the most important key obtained upon sign up in steemit community. It is the key used to generate all other keys in steemit. It is very vital for ACCOUNT RECOVERY .For this reason it’s adviced to always store this key [password] offline .And also away from any other person’s eye .

THE OWNER KEY: This key is the most important key that can alter or change any other key including the owner key. And as such should be guarded with utmost care. It is advisable to have an offline storage of this key to avoid account theft.

THE MEMO KEY: This key is used specifically for encrypting and decrypting memos when transferring funds. To encrypt a memo , use the pound/# sign before it.

NB: If you by any chance misplace your keys or forget your password, it cannot be recovered. So guard your keys with caution.

• Upon obtaining your basic keys, write it down offline [preferably on a paper]

Have you retrieve all your keys on steemit?
Do you know each of these key functions and restrictions?

How do you plan to keep your master password?

For question 4 & 5: answer with image samples showing that you transfered and powered up steem.

Do you know how to transfer your steem token to another steem user account?
Do you know how to power up your STEEM?
