Who goes there?

My name is Ola Olusola from South Western Nigeria. I'm full-blooded Ekiti by origin but I live in the largest west African city of Ibadan. Thanks to @msquaretk for introducing me to this platform. I grew up listening to a lot of juju music sandwiched at seldom with a touch of fuji and apala music. My dad of blessed memory had this attitude of playing the music for the whole street, he played his music at the highest volume, so loud that many households around could easily relate.

Nobody complained about the volume of his musics for two obvious reasons. We owned the only television (a four-legged key-protected black and white Toshiba) in that area then, everyone watched tv in our house, for this you don't want to get in my dad's bad book so as not to lose your entrance ticket. Secondly, most people saw our Kenwood stereo deck as a rare luxury, so they vibe to the sounds and feel some part of the luxury.

My mom would send me to church with dad but she'll not show up till the tail end of the service. She'll be busy with chores. She'll return home from church and start praying on top of her voice. Hungry me, I'd always interrupt her prayers.

My both parents were not educated but I'm glad to say I hold a master's degree in Genetics from the prestigious University of Benin, Benin City. I gained my father's neatness and integrity. I gained my mother's smartness and endurance. I really can't say if I also took any of thier vices.

My elder sister and I are the only children between my parents. She will take the larger share of the food pointing out she's older than me but she'll take the smaller portion of duty pointing out I'm the male, the alpha male. We had so many funny experiences while growing up.

For now I teach at an international school where students are taught in French and English. Please don't assume I speak French. I am married with a kid who looks more like me than her mom. I read a lot and write too.

This is where I want to be, steemit where I can easily grow with others in a manner at par with 21st century. Good day to you all as I look forward to a wonderful experience on here.
