Today i am really excited for the opportunity given to me to share with you what plagiarism means, it types, how to avoid plagiarism and causes of plagiarism.

Definition of plagiarism?

This is an act of using another authors language, thoughts or ideas without making references to the original post. It can be seen as an act of taking credit for another authors work

categories of plagiarism.

There are different types or act of plagiarism and they are all violations of academic integrity.

  • Mosaic Plagiarism..
  • Accidental Plagiarism.
  • Source-based Plagiarism.
  • Complete Plagiarism.
  • Direct Plagiarism

How to avoid plagiarism.

Through the following methods plagiarism can be avoided:

  • Regular use of plagiarism checker before posting it publishing.
  • Always make reference (site your source).
  • use your own ideas.

Causes of plagiarism.

Plagiarism is caused by the following:

  • poor time management skills.
  • Fear.
  • Lack of capital.
  • if you are not writer then you are left with no other choice than to copy another authors post.

Ever since I joined this wonderful platform I noticed that one of the aim of this platform is to eliminate every traces of Plagiarism. Taking another authors credit is theft.

Plagiarism.

Plagiarism is presenting someone else’s work or ideas as your own, with or without their consent, by incorporating it into your work without full acknowledgement. All published and unpublished material, whether in manuscript, printed or electronic form, is covered under this definition. Plagiarism may be intentional or reckless, or unintentional. Under the regulations for examinations, intentional or reckless plagiarism is a disciplinary offence.
