I have gone through the achievement 2 lesson which explains the use of various keys for my account. I have understood that security of keys is very important since any keys lost will never be regained. So I am ready to secure my keys and make sure the appropriate keys are used for specific functions. So here are my answers to the questions raised.
Question 1
Have you retrieve all your keys on steemit?
Answer: Yes I have retrieved all keys and stores them securely. I have my master key, owner key, posting key, active key and owner key.
Question2
Do you know each of these key functions and restrictions?
Sure I understand the use of each keys as follows:
Master key: This key is used to generate all other keys and should not be used unless there is a good reason to do so. I need to securely store the master key aand use it only when I need to generate all other keys.
Owner key: The owner key is used to generate other keys except the master key. It is a sensitive key that must not be used regularly unless I wish to generate new posting, active or memo keys.
Active key: this key is used for wallet actions such as sending tokens to another account. The active key is also used to power up or down, also to make votes on post.
Posting key: the posting key is used to publish content on my blog page. This key is also used to follow another account, upvote and downvoted posts, and also to resteem a post made by another account.
Memo key: the memo key can be used to encrypt memos on the platform. It can also be used to decrypt memos too.
Question 3
How do you plan to keep your master password?
I will print it in hardcopy and file it with my important documents offline. I also plan to use a cloud storage account to back up a copy of the password.
Question 4
Do you know how to transfer your steem token to another steem user account?
Sure. I know how to do that. I have been able to transfer some Steem to another account to make sure I know.how to do it.
Question 5
Do you know how to power up your STEEM?
Sure. I know how to power up. My mentor @focusnow have shown Mee how to do it. I am even planning to participate in the SPUD4STEEM which will happen on December 1, 2020.
