Achievement 2 @onyichuks Task : Basic Security on Steem

I @onyichuks make this post because I have understood what basic security on Steemit looks like. There are several keys that I must make sure they are safe in order to keep my account as secure as possible.

Today hacking and systems intrusion are common. Also, I have learnt that if i loose my keys, there will be no way to have access to my account. So in order to make sure my account remains intact, i will take all necessary precaution to make sure I do not loose my keys.

Having understood the importance of security and this particular lesson about security, i use this post to fulfil the requirments for the achievement 2 post. Here are my answers to questions which show that I have really understood this lesson.

Question 1
Have you retrieve all your keys on steemit?
Answer: Yes, I have used the master key to login to the my wallet and copied out all the keys. I now have a total of 4 keys.

Question2
Do you know each of these key functions and restrictions?
Answer: Yes. I have learnt that the Master key is used to change all the other keys including the owner key. i can use the master key to recover my account. The Owner key can be used to change the other keys. The Active key is used to perform actions at the wallet such as sending tokens to another account, powering up or powering down. The posting key is used to loginto the blog area so that i can perform social functions like making a post, commenting and resteeming a post.

Question 3
How do you plan to keep your master password?
I plan to print out hard copy and store it securely in my documents folder.

Question 4
Do you know how to transfer your steem token to another steem user account?
Yes. I learnt how to transfer tokens. I will first select the token from my wallet, then click the small arrow and select transfer. Then in the new window, I will put the username of the recepient, the quantity of token, memo and the i click Ok. I will put my active key and confirm the transaction, to send the token.

Question 5
Do you know how to power up your STEEM?
Answer. Yes. it is very easy. I will go to my Steem balance, click the small arrow, then select power up from the menu. In the new window, I will put how many steem I want to power up, then I click ok to finish it.

I am very happy to learn about basic security on Steem. i hope to continue to make my account as secure as possible. I will not give away my keys. I will also change my keys periodically to make them more secure. Thank you so much @cryptokannon and my mentor @focusnow now for this tutorial and guidance. I also thank my awesome newbie community @steemalive. I look forward to the next achivement post if this one is approved.
