Plagiarism is a serious offense or crime . At the university level it will usually get you an F on your project or assignment work If you plagiarize repeatedly you may even get kicked out of the institution.....
Outside the word or academy, the penalties vary when being caught plagiarizing certainly hurts your reputation and you might lose your job as well .....
But you shouldn’t obey the law just to avoid getting caught, If you value original thought, personal integrity, and scholarly research, then you will naturally want to avoid plagiarism. That’s why it’s important to cite your sources and know how to integrate quotations properly and not being dependent on other people works ...
HERE ARE SOME CAUSES OF PLAGIARISM
• Fears of failing
• Desire to get a good grade
• Last minute panic
• Believing they will not be caught while doing plagiarism.

WHY YOU SHOULD AVOID PLAGIARISM
Avoiding plagiarism is a good thing as a student or writer because it compromises both your integrity and your life . Aside from losing the respect of your mentors and peers, it could cost you valuable professional experience and future career advancement. If you’re still in school, plagiarism may result in lost of financial aid or leadership roles.......

Additionally, it takes credit or profit away from the original creator of the work which may mean more trouble if the source takes legal action against you.
