Hello dear Comrades of Steemit community. It gladen my heart taking part in this achievement 2 after completing my introduction post and was verified. This achievement 2 is all about basic security on Steem.
Security deals with safe keeping or securing ones assets to avoid loss or theft. It is the same everywhere although methods of security differs.
Question 1
Have you retrieve all your keys on steemit?
Yes! I did, also the PDF was downloaded at once and I retrieved all the keys including the posting, active, master, owner and memo keys .
Question2
Do you know each of these key functions and restrictions?
I have learn and understood the functions and restrictions of all the keys after I retrieved them.
Posting key deals with perform social actions like posting, commenting, voting, and replying messages
Active key has to deal for wallet transactions like transfer of token to another user, powerup and delegation. Without active key, there no way I can make moves of my earnings
Then,Master key is the main key that was first gotten when the account was created which I used to retrieve my pdf. It can be used to recover or change my keys in the event of hack or loss.
Memo key is used to encrypt or decript massages.
Memo key is used to decline voting rights, recover accounts and other things.
Question 3
How do you plan to keep your
master password?
After i retrieved my PDF, I had the master key stored and copied offline too for it to be at safe place.
Question 4
Do you know how to transfer your steem token to another steem user account?
I know how to transfer my token to another user very well. It is very easy, I have to go to my wallet, go to the Steem balance, click the drop down arrow and click transfer.
Thereafter input the username of the account am transferring to, the amount and then complete the transaction with my active key.
Question 5
Do you know how to power up your STEEM?
Powerup my Steem is very clear to me. Which I go to my wallet, go to my Steem balance and click on the drop down arrow.
In the box that comes up, i will then input the amount of steem I am powerup and then click power up. Transaction is done using active key.
