This task is one I enjoy writing on because I have learnt things I don't know;
Plagiarism is the act of using someone's work or idea without giving due honor to the owner by citing the source of the copied work hence presenting it as your own work.

TYPES OF PLAGIARISM

Direct plagiarism is the act of copying someone's work word for word without citing the source of the copied work.

Mosaic plagiarism is the act of merging different copied works to create the illusion of a new work but from a closer look one will see that it's a copied work.

Self plagiarism is the act of using ones work without properly citing your original work.

Global plagiarism is the act of using another persons work presenting it as your own idea without citing the source of the copied work.

HOW TO AVOID PLAGIARISM
The following are certain things one should do to avoid plagiarism ;
CITATION : when making use of someone's work or idea its of utmost importance that we indicate the the source of that imported idea as a way of acknowledging the owner of the borrowed idea.
WRITTEN PERMISSION ;When using another persons work under copy write law its permitted to write to the owner of the work seeking for permission to use their work and if the person so wills can give a written permission to enable the applicant use the said work under the guidance of the copy write law.
USE OF PLAGIARISM CHECKER ;After making a write up to be on the safe side its advisable for one to use a plagiarism checker to ensure that the said work is plagiarism free.

CONSEQUENCES OF PLAGIARISM
The plagiarizer may be jailed or pay a stipulated amount to the state and the owner of the plagiarized work.
If a student is the offender he or she may be expelled from the school.
The offender will have his or her work canceled.
On the steemit platform the plagiarized work will be canceled and if repeated the offender may be banned from the platform.
