security is the essence of all. anything that has no security, it will cause destruction. so for me security is very important. now I am completing the tasks given by the moderator in the steem greet community with the task "basic security at steem". thank you for this assignment. in my opinion this adds to my understanding of security at steem.
Question 1
Have you taken all your keys in steemit?
I have taken all the keys. includes a post key, active key, and master key. I open my wallet and choose keys and permissions. I opened all the keys using the active key.
Question2
Do you know each of these main functions and limitations?
I only know a little. I do not understand well.
Key post, from what I have read, is useful when logging into Steemit. such as voting, making comments, and muting other people's accounts.
from what I caught, that the active key is useful for funds transfer. I think if anyone has access to this key, it will cause my funds to disappear in my wallet. This is terrible when I already have a lot of steams. I have to keep this key well.
owner key. this is useful for changing the other key. and this is a strong key.
my question, if another key has been stolen. and the thief changed another key. can I take the key from the thief with the owner's key?
Question 3
How do you plan to save your main password?
who have saved on Facebook. I sent all the Steemit keys via message to a Facebook account of a friend I trusted. so when my cellphone disappears, I can again retrieve all the keys in the facebook message. I don't know if it's a safe place to store keys.
Question 4
Do you know how to transfer your token steem to another steem user account?
I have never tried. but from what I read, that to send a token requires an active key.
Question 5
Do you know how to turn on your STEEM?
for this I have never tried. but from what I read, to turn on steem also requires an active key.
thank you @cryptokannon for this assignment. This adds to my knowledge of the keys in steem.
Hi @raziatul your master password is the password you receive when you first time sign up in steemit. Then all the other keys you get via your master key. You have to keep your master password somewhere safe offline. You only use it when you want to change all of your keys. You can use your private owner key to change other keys.
as long as your master password not stolen then you're ok. You can change your owner key with the master password.
