Today i am gonna share my achievement task 3 post and it is all about the rules for creating stuff on Steemit. You know like how every place has its own rules for everyone to get along
Well in Steem Territor, we got some too. And there is this important word "PLAGIARISM"
which is like a signal for anyone not following the rules.

WHAT DO I UNDERSTAND BY THE WORD PLAGIARISM ?

Taking someone else ideas, work or stuff without giving credit is what we call "Plagiarism".
Its like taking something that isnot yours and that is not a good thing because it can really harm someone reputation.
So whenever you use someone words, pictures or ideas and its important to give a shout out to where you got them. Its like saying "Hey I got this from here" and its just the right thing to do.

WHAT IS CITATION ?

Citation is like the total opposite of plagiarism. When you cite something so youare basically giving credit to where you found your information or quote.
Its like saying "I got this cool idea or words from here" Putting a link to the source is really important
Its like showing others exactly where you found the good stuff. Its not just about being fair but its about saying thanks to the folks who shared the knowledge.

Steemit is a blockchain-based blogging and social media website. Users can gain a cryptocurrency, more specifically STEEM, for publishing and curating content (i.e. posts). Users can also be rewarded with STEEM based on their comments. The company is owned by Steemit Inc., a privately held company based in New York City and a headquarters in Virginia.source

There are several types of plagiarism and here are some common ones

  • Copy-and-Paste Plagiarism
  • Paraphrasing Plagiarism
  • Mosaic Plagiarism
  • Self-Plagiarism
  • Inaccurate Citation
  • Collusion

My opinions to Avoid Plagiarism

  • Use detection tools to check your content
  • To avoid plagiarism its essential to properly cite and attribute information, ideas and words that are not your own.
  • Always give credit to the original sources
  • whether they are books, articles, websites or any other form of content.

I have gone through the Steemit Etiquette in the Steemit Community and I m committed to embracing and implementing to these guidelines to the best of my ability
