Greeting everyone,
I am writing this to apply for the greeter volunteer to assist greeters. I believe being a volunteer gives another level of interest in learning and exploring the steem ecosystem. I proudly admit that i got the batch of Pro Newcomer/R3 through the Newcomers' community. This community has given me the great insight that helped me being verified as a Pro Newcomer. So, i believe now has come the time to give back to the community being as a volunteer(act of kindness) to help the greeter team who are flooded with the workloads.

As a greeter volunteer, there will be four fundamental rules to be checked accurately when it comes to the achievement tasks:
- The status of the achievement task. Verified/Unverified by the Greeter.
- Title must be relevent as mentioned exactly in the Lists of Achievement Tasks, Material & Resources by @cryptokannon. The general format of writing the title is:
"achievement(number) task by @accountname: your content based title" - Tag must be pertinent. For instance, #achievement(and the corresponding number of achievement you are about to write on) and the Current Residence must be tagged at all times.
- No Plagiarism in the content.
- Use of Citation if used something not yours.
So, if these basic rules are not complied by the newcomers, they need to be adviced right away to make correction by writing in the comment section of the particular post. These rules must be applied to all the achievement 1-6 tasks and also for the compilation of achievement tasks.
For Achievement 1 Task:
Verification through Introduction, this task will be done by the greeter team themselves because these need an extra attention to be recorded on the steemit New User Tracking(SUT) and google sheet for the proper verification.
Now, i am going to present the major lookouts in all the achievement tasks from 2 to 6 as below:
For Achievement 2 Task:
Basic Security on Steem, I, as a greeter volunteer, will be looking to what extent the newcomers have understood the security system on steem. For that, i will keep my eyes on these points below:
- If they retrieved all their keys on steemit.
- Functions and restrictions of these keys.
- Their way of keeping master password securely.
- Understanding the process of transfering the steem token to another steem user account.
- The process of powering up the steem.
For Achievement 3 Tasks:
Content Etiquette, i, as a greeter volunter, will observe if they understand on following points:
- If they have a better knowledge on Plagiarism by using Citation method and with the help of citation markdown provided.
- Whether they declare the remarks at the end of the post or not.
I have read and understood the Steemit Etiquette on Steemit Community and will do my best to embrace them.
If they do, this indicates the probability that they have gone through the" The Complete Steemit Etiquette Guide (Revision 2.0) -Homage"
For Achievement 4 Task:
Applying Markdowns, i, as a greeter volunteer, will be looking for the points if the newcomers have utilised minimum of five mentioned markdowns below in a proper way.
- Creating Headlines
- Text: Justify, Align, Subscript/Superscript and link
- Table: Coding, Quote/Blockquote, Linebreak
- Image: Alignment and link+caption below the image
- Video: Youtube, Dtube, gif
- Ruler
- Clickable image and
- Scaling down the image
Once they get verified on achievement 4 task, i will also suggest them to get involved in other programs such as 500 SP Support Program that is currently going on and also to Steemit Crypto Academy courses.
Achievement 5 Tasks:
The Steem Tools, i, as a greeter volunteer, will see if they have gained a knowledge on how to use the tools for their daily tracking and transaction on their steem account. There are four steem tools on which they need to prepare four different posts for each tool.
I will review their explanation on each of the tools and theirs features. Since each achievement task associated with each tool has some questions for the newcomers. So, i will check if they have answered all the questions mentioned in the respective task in their own way.
Achievement 6:
Curation, Witnesses & Community, i, as a greeter volunteer, will observe their task if they are able to understand how the Voting and Curation work. I will also specifically be looking at whether they understand the five minutes time-frame that brings changes in the curation rewards if voted within 5 minutes after posting. If they understand the role of steem witnesses, who will they be voting and why? As for the community, which will they be joining with reasons.
After the achievement 6 gets verified, i will remind them to prepare a post about the compilation of all their achievement(1-6) posts' link with relevent title and tags which will be verified by the Greeter team.
In conclusion, i, as a greeter volunteer need to check, give correction if required and leave a comment that the task has been verified with its rating point before it goes to the greeter team table.
