Introduction

Hi steemians, hope you all are doing well? Thank you for verifying my achievements 1 and 2. Am here to proceed by writing my achievement 3 post.

This task is all about "content etiquette" which refers to the necessary guidelines and principles/rules that we steemians are expected to follow or adhere to whenever we share contents in steemit.

Plagiarism

In my own understanding I will boldly say plagiarism is the act of stealing someone's write up and showing it to people that is yours, saying that you created it yourself. I can also say is the act of stealing other people's writing without giving them due reference or properly sourcing their work. It is an offence in the entire world.

Types of plagiarism

~ Complete plagiarism

This is the type of plagiarism where the user copies everything that an author wrote. That is to say that the user copied completely what the author wrote without even paraphrasing or sourcing the source.

~ Paraphrasing plagiarism

Paraphrasing simply means rewriting a text using other words, it only becomes plagiarism when you state the text as if they are yours.

~ Accidental plagiarism

This type of plagiarism is not done purposefully. A user can just write his/her post without knowing he/she has plagiarized. It could be by omission or commission.

~ Patchwork plagiarism

This is also called mosaic plagiarism, it means copying ideas, texts from different sources and putting them together to generate a new text.

~ Verbatim or direct plagiarism

In this type of plagiarism a user intentionally copies everything from another source. It is the copy and paste type. This is stealing and illegal.

~ Self plagiarism

This is the type of plagiarism where a writer reuses his/her previous work when he/she has already gotten credit and he/she is presenting it as a brand new work.

How to avoid plagiarism

Try to source your work properly using citation method as you can see below 👇

I am a student and I study hard to make good grades.

Try to write in your own words without copying from others. Even if you want to copy, please source your works properly.

"I have read and understood the Steemit Etiquette on Steemit community and I will do my best to embrace them" at the end of this task post.
