Achievement 2: Basic security in steemit by @sandratoyin

Hello steemit.
It is an honour to be part of this platform. It has been an amazing journey in steemit so far. I have learnt alot about the security system.

Q1. Have I retrieved all your keys on steemit?

Yes i have. I got mine as soon as I sign up for this platform. Honestly they were a lot, i didn't understand why i needed all of them. It took me a lot of reading to understand how they worked. So i stored them on my phone and wrote them down

Q2. Do you know each keys functions and restrictions?

Yes i do, each key has its function and restrictions. The main restriction is mostly not to share your keys( data) in any way. Keep them private. These keys include;

Post keys
This key is used for publications, that is to post articles, edit, vote. It is also used follow accounts on steemit or silence them. The more you make use of this key, the more likely vulnerable it becomes.

Activation keys.
The activation keys mainly grants access to make transactions in you wallet. These transactions could be transfering of funds from your account to another steem account, Power up or power down and withdrawing funds.

Owner key.
This key has a unique ability. it can alter other keys when they have been compromised. It is very important, it should be kept offline. It can also be used to recover lost account.

Memo key
This is for encrypting and decrypting messages and data while transferring data.

Master key
It is used to generate other keys, and also the pdf doc. It is received upon signing in

Q3. How do you plan to keep your master key Safe.

I stored the pdf with all the keys in the in my phone. I also wrote down the keys and stored them with my other documents.

Q4. Do you know how to transfer steem token to another steem account?

Yes i do. I am going to walk you through it step by step. First you do to your wallet, then click on balance. Click on the steem balance, if will show you some options

You simply click on the transfer option, it will take you to a page where you can fill in the details and make your transfer.

Q5. Do you know how to power up your steem?

Yes. You go to your wallet, click on balance, click on your steem balance.

Click on power up. Then fill the amount you are using and power up.
