Helloo there everyone;
I am slowly and steadily sailing through my achievement tasks and I’m back again to complete my task on achievement 3 which focuses on content etiquette and more specifically plagiarism.
WHAT IS PLAGIARISM?
”Plagiarism is presenting someone else’s work or ideas as your own, with or without their consent, by incorporating it into your work without full acknowledgement. " Source
FORMS OF PLAGIARISM
Plagiarism has many different types or forms.
Certain types or forms of plagiarism include direct plagiarism which is a word for word replication of an individual’s word without attributing the necessary credit to the person.
Another form of plagiarism is mosaic plagiarism which involves borrowing a text from a source without adding quotation marks.
Source based plagiarism is another form or type of plagiarism which involves different sources in the sense that a person may use an incorrect and/or different source as a way of citation.
Self plagiarism, otherwise referred to as auto plagiarism is when a person makes a reference to his or her previous work without providing the proper or correct attribution and/or acknowledgement to the original source despite ownership of the original work.
Additionally, complete plagiarism is a more severe form of plagiarism which involves submitting the entirety of someone else’s work as yours without any attribution whatsoever. It is an ultimate form of plagiarism which is viewed as intellectual theft.
Last but certainly not the least is accidental plagiarism which occurs when a person misquotes a source or forgets to cite a source.

Plagiarism is generally not considered a crime but is considered an ethical offense as far as academics is concerned. It can also be punished in court probably for copyright infringement or moral violation.
With Steemit encouraging originality of work amongst its users as much as possible, plagiarism from members is entirely frowned on by the community. Plagiarising ones work leaves a negative taste in the mouth of readers who visit a particular content.
I encourage every user to not only refrain from plagiarism but be mindful of acknowledging a source of information.
I have read and understood the Steemit Etiquette on Steemit community and will do my best to embrace them
