Achievement 2 - Basic Security On Steemit by @shivamgautam191

Hello all steemians. I hope All are good and healthy . I have already completed my acheivement 1 task in the steemit academy and today i am doing my second task which emphasize basic security .steemit is a decentralized website .

As we all know which means there is no team working on passwords or retervieng them so its important to know all the keys and paasword and what they are for.
I will be answering a few question and i will include tutorial too..

Have you retrieved all your keys from steemit ?

###Answer

Yes i have and i have also saved it on google drive , a pdf file and email.

###Question2

Do you know each of these key functions and restrictions?

###Answer

Yes i do . The keys are special and they serve their own specific purposes .

They areMaster possword :

This is very powerful key. And it used to genrate all the keys including the owner keys .

posting key :

These key allow you to log in your account and take several actions creating post , commenting , following and muted all other aacounts .

Active key :

These key allow you to perform transaction
Such as transfering funds to other accounts , powering up and down and convert steam dollars .

private owner key :

This key is very important and can be used only when it is neccesary because it can change any of the key listed above.

Memo key :

This key is very use for encrypting and decrypting memos when perform transactions such as transfering funds .

Question 3

How do you plan to keep your master password ?

Answer

I have save my master password to my google drive accounts , my pdf and emails and they are all are guarded with the password in other to deny anyone access expect me it is also written in my jotter and kept hidden in a very safe place.

Question 4

Do you know how we transfer our steem token to another steem token account ?

Answer

Yes i do and i am going to give a pictorial demonstartion how to do it .
Firstly you go to your wallet ( circled yellow)

Then click the figure under steem ( circled yellow ), which show how many steem token you have .

A list of option appear click on transfer

After you click it to box will appear as shown below and Then type in the name of the users you are transfering to. For this, You will be required to use a key to confirm and transcation and that will be your active key .

Question 5

Do you know how to power up your steem ?

Answer

Yes i do. I will drop a pictorial demonstration below still under your wallet. Then click on steem ( marked in yellow)

A list of option appear then you select power up ( marked yellow)

A box will appear after then you input the amount of steam that you want to power up. Then click on the powerup option and your steem will power up.
